LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Madison

Update 2/28/21: After multiple people from LongHorn Steakhouse reaching out to me per my ealier review, I was encouraged to retry the restaurant on them. After hesitation I decided to try it out. I can honestly say this visit was excellent! I have changed my star rating to show so. The whole experience was pleasing. The restaurant was clean and the service we received was great. The gentleman was a new hire and was extremely awesome! This visit was nothing short of what a restaurant of this standard should be...AMAZING! The food was perfect as well right down to my filet mignon (flo's filet). Way to go LongHorn! You're doing great with the changes! We'll be back in the future for sure.

Original post; This was one of my favorite steak houses to go to in Wisconsin, until tonight. I was sadly disappointed in our whole visit. Upon arriving it took over 7 minutes to be greeted and seated in an almost empty restaurant. I used the restroom only to discover trash all over the floor on my walk through the dinning room to the restroom. Once I reached the ladies room it was disgusting! The toilets had feces smeared all over the toilet seats. Needless to say I didn't use the ladies room after that disgusting disappointment. When I returned to our table the waiter came for our order but dude was so annoyingly loud and his Spanish was way off when speaking to my husband, whom speaks English and understands. My husband looked at me for confirmation that what he wanted was what he actually ordered because the waiter confused him. Waiting for our food the waiter joined another table to loudly discuss his day and other personal information with the people sitting there. Nevermind he forgot our salad and soup and another tables alcoholic drinks. When our dinner finally arrived my filet mignon was loaded with fat and tendons. He came to ask how it was, after explaining he was an expert in the specific cut and I pointed out the fat and tendons. He did offer to take it back and get a new one. But I declined, as I wasn't interested in waiting another hour. We finished and he finally brought the check but didn't come back for some time for us to checkout. Sadly we will not visit this restaurant again...

I never leave negative reviews ANYWHERE I go, I always just deal and go on with my day but my experience here on 1/6/2021 was ridiculous and something I have never experienced ever. It was my boyfriends birthday and we aren’t even from Madison, WI. We decided to come here because it was close to the hotel & any other longhorn we’ve been to is always pretty good. We called 5 minutes before we left our hotel to ask if there was a wait and was told there was no wait, we leave and get there to be told there is a 20 minute wait, so we wait 20 minutes. we finally get seated and the bartender ends up being our waitress, very inattentive, didn’t seem like she wanted to wait on us, I was being overly nice because I just genuinely thought she was having a rough day but it just progressively gets worse. We were also sat next to a group of guys, i definitely think it’s okay to laugh, conversate & what not with your table but these dudes were yelling at the top of their lungs, cussing non stop, to the point were me and my boyfriend could barley talk, it’s just simple respect & they didn’t care about anyone else at the restaurant trying to enjoy their meal & the whole staff seemed to be friends with them so we didn’t say anything. our whole dinner. We get our drinks & then our food 20 minutes or so later, never was asked for a refill, my glass was empty & didn’t have any sauce, was never checked up on. my boyfriend did get a different waiters… should say hostess attention to get us sauce & she brought it back & still our waitress never checked up on us, we were barley done with our food and our waitress brought us our check with a 25% discount?? them knowing something went and didn’t acknowledge it? just set it on the table and didn’t say a word and left, i set my card on it when we were done, came and grabbed it & brought it back. absolutely no communication or anything. we just got...

They seated us after a short wait. The waiter assured us he would work very hard to make our dining experience very enjoyable. It was what he did. Drink order and appetizer came without incident but the extra butter I asked for, twice, never made it to the table. Everything we ordered came well prepared...that's why we come here...except the salad. It came with the onions we specifically requested be left off and the dressing that was supposed to be on the side...was at the bottom of the salad bowl. The ketchup I asked for to accompany my fries was almost half full...usually it is down to 1/8. The butter requested came after the broccoli had cooled rendering it unmeltable...if we had the butter when I asked for it with the bread that wouldn't hve been a problem. The waiter was full of "I apologize" responses and I stopped believing he was, in fact remorseful after the first dozen times. My steak and fries were superb as was the loaded baked potato soup and the salad passable even though the dressing was delivered in the wrong place. The waiter offered to have the salad "completely remade"...too little too late. I avoid Outback Steakhouse because every steak comes with some kind of "dusting" that my wife hasn't the palate for but...if she has to ask it be left off here...she will have to do so there too. The appetizers are unique at Longhorn as are those at Outback. After my experience today...I will be trying Outback...it's closer to me, has better parking and slightly less offensive...to me anyway...music and it does not share access roads with the mall. Longhorn has been very good until today when my experience-as a whole- just didn't measure up...even when taking tha bad...
