JCPenney Hair Salon: It wasn't the fact that I sat in a chair for three hours without receiving the results requested, it wasn't the fact that the hair stylist didn't even show me the finished color before she got started on the dying process, it wasn't that my stylist didn't even bother to ask my name or provide any other effort to speak with me, it wasn't the fact that my hair dresser disappeared for 30 minutes at a time leaving me to sit in the chair and wonder what the next step was, and it wasn't the fact that three different hair stylists consulted my hair dresser on which route to take to properly dye my hair. It was the fact that when my hair was finally dry and the hair dresser realized that three hours of our time had been wasted for nothing that she disappeared to consult with another staff member without even asking me what I wanted. When I finally stated that I had enough and that I had other things I needed to do in my day and that I wasn't okay with the result and paying $95.00 for wasted time with no result that I became upset because another member of staff approached me and stated that "in my professional opinion, your hair looks fine." I'm sorry, but last time I checked I was the one who had to pay $95.00 for three hours of wasted time. I was shown so much disrespect and there was such a lack of customer service that I was so appalled that I simply had to leave.
I had actually been refereed to the JCPenney Salon by a friend, I have always had my hair professionally done but had just relocated so I was seeking to try something new. Not only will I never return to the JCPenney Salon, I will also be informing every other individual who requests my opinion, that they might as well go by a dye kit before they waste their time and money...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had in my life at a JCpenney. I walked into the store with a few Christmas gifts I wanted wrapped and asked the cashier in the front if there was any wrapping services or wrapping paper I could by, she totally ignored me. Then I went to the jewelry counter where i asked the employee behind the counter (middle age, darker skinned woman) if she could direct me to any wrapping services or paper. She was very rude and unprofessional to me. She told me that JCPenney never does those things and never has any wrapping paper for customers. And then told me that if I am not buying jewelry to not bother her. I was so so hurt by what she said and went to hallmark instead, where they not only treated me very well and let me buy wrapping paper, but even helped me wrap the presents. I am perfectly fine with JCPenney being unable to supply wrapping paper or services, but for their employee to speak that rudely and unprofessionally to me, and just basically shoo me away like I was a mosquito or something is uncalled for and hurt my feelings. I have shopped at JCPenney for years in Texas and have been a loyal customer. I’ve never had an issue at a JCPenney before until now. Their employees are known to be helpful and professional, and I cannot believe the way they behaved toward me in Madison. Not to mention I know for a fact that JCPenney has helped me wrap presents and has let me purchase wrapping paper before. Regardless, even if they didn’t offer such products/services, they still should not speak to me in such a dismissive rude tone. Totally...

I had an appointment to get highlights in my hair, and the stylist was late. Not a big deal. However, while she was shampooing and conditioning my hair, she told me that she was going to apply a deep conditioner--that she failed to mention would add an extra $15 on my bill! She said it was because my hair was damaged, but my hair is (was) virgin hair, never touched by heat styling, washed only once or twice a week, AND I had just gotten a cut a week earlier. (I got the cut at another salon, and when I was telling my usual stylist about this, she shook her head and said, "No, your hair is actually really healthy.") The extra charge on my bill was irritating. I wish she had either asked if I wanted the deep conditioner, or at least told me that it was going to cost extra.
On top of that, when she took the towel off of my shoulders, I was COVERED in tiny black hairs, from a previous haircut. I did NOT get my hair cut during that appointment, and being covered in someone else's hair was absolutely disgusting. They were all over my neck, shoulders, and arms. I couldn't believe the stylist could be so careless as to not use a clean towel on a new client. Disgusting.
The woman at the desk took the $15 deep-conditioning charge off of my bill, but not a word was said about the hairs. The stylist didn't even come out to apologize.
I won't be back to...
