I had never eaten at a Schlotzsky’s location until recently. Some of my coworkers recommended I try it, so I gave it a shot. I was immediately greeted by a friendly FOH worker. She was very helpful and quick to take our order. Our food was brought out to us in a matter of minutes. I sat down, took a sip of my drink, went to the restroom to wash my hands, and by the time I returned to the table, a waitress delivered my food on a plate that I found very attractive for a quick service restaurant. I was impressed by the atmosphere. Everything was very clean and organized. I ordered the French Dip with a Caesar salad. I really enjoyed the sandwich! The bread has a bit of a bite to it. By bite, I mean it’s just chewier and crustier than your average sandwich bread. It’s not easy to find bread like that, especially in the south. The roast beef had lots of flavor and I really enjoyed it. I’ll be forever grateful that you guys serve your salad dressing on the side. I was asked if I’d like their house made Caesar dressing or “regular” Caesar dressing. I opted to try the house made dressing. The dressing had an unsettling soupy texture that was completely wrong for a Caesar dressing. The Caesar dressing oddly tastes like honey mustard mixed with a few ingredients one might add to a traditional Caesar dressing. I don’t think that dressing had a bad taste but I definitely would not call it Caesar. Now I know for next time I visit to request the traditional Caesar dressing if I choose a Caesar salad. Overall, I’d definitely recommend you give Schlotzsky’s a shot. I’ll be returning for more of the delicious bread baked in...
Read moreEven though I walked into the establishment, no one seemed to be happy, smiling or willing to take my order, I patiently waited until someone felt like coming to the cash register. A young lady took my order and handed me my cup, however, upon returning to the counter, I noticed a woman who appeared to be the manager standing at the cash register. She had a crumpled paper towel pressed to her mouth, seemingly about to spit into it, but stopped abruptly when she noticed me approaching. Our eyes met briefly before I observed two employees in the kitchen, both wearing fresh gloves, diligently preparing my food. However, the manager made her way to the kitchen without washing her hands to assist in tasks such as closing boxes, handling napkins, and bagging my order.
I addressed the manager and expressed my concern regarding her unsanitary actions, pointing out that she had failed to wash her hands before handling items directly associated with my food. Although she argued that she had not touched the food directly, I explained that her contact with the napkins, boxes, and bag could still result in germ transfer to my meal. As a manager, she should understand and prioritize workplace cleanliness, especially in a restaurant. This makes me question her ability to properly train her staff on food safety standards. Additionally, I observed that her nose appeared to be running, which heightened my concern about the potential...
Read moreI've always loved schlotskys and have always gone to the flowood location but since starting my new job this Madison location is just closer. Both encounters have been terrible. The first, I just ordered a sandwich through the drive through, after having rude silence and small interaction with the drive through lady I was given my order and me being on my lunch break I rush back to work only to find out instead of a simple turkey sandwich I got some kind of salami smothered in onions sandwich, which was awful and I had no time to return 👎
The second time I'd have over 200 points saved up and wanted to redeem some for a free sandwich as well as purchasing a pizza and drink, the app was not cooperating at all and wouldn't give me the barcode to redeem in store and wouldn't apply to my purchase online. On top of that the employees and manager weren't at all helpful saying they needed the barcode to give me any sort of discount. Madison y'all need to step...
