UPDATE 12/10/22 As I stated in my previous review, I planned to dine here again. So today, while Christmas shopping with my husband, we decided to give it a shot. He’s not eaten here before so I really wanted to get his take on it. We were both very pleased. The wait was very short , everyone was very nice and informative. Our waitress had to leave unexpectedly, but she came to the table to apologize and let us know who would be taking care of us for the remainder of our dinner. I thought this was really considerate and professional. Her replacement was very attentive as well. Now, on to the food….. He had the Shrimp and grits, and I will tell you straight up. I hate shrimp…. BUT even I would eat this! When I say it was absolutely delicious, that would be an understatement. They’ve jazzed up the typical recipe a bit and added corn, which sounds so simple… right? Trust me, it adds so much flair. You have to try this!! I had The Mardi Gras, I was sure about this dish when I ordered it. I was torn between the Mardi Gras and the Mahi Tacos. After speaking to the waitress and her explanation of the flavors married together in this dish, I chose it, and I am so grateful that I did. The Mahi was absolutely delicious. It was cooked to perfection. I love blackened Mahi but some people tend to over cook it. Not GB , it was so tender and juicy. The spinach and tomatoes were just as good as the fish itself. I ate nearly every bite of the spinach. My husband isn’t a big fan of cooked tomatoes or spinach but even he loved this dish. Then, as if all those things weren’t enough, they lay it upon a bed of mashed potatoes! I ate so much that I was sick…. I’ve included photos below. On my next visit….I plan to try the nachos and one of the beautiful, mouthwatering, deserts that I seen. 😊
The atmosphere was great. This location was a little different than the one I visited on Lakeland. The prices are a little high but the blue plate special was awesome! We had pot roast, although it was different than what I’m use to, I would definitely eat it again. Service was friendly and efficient. However, I give the 3 stars because my friend and I arrived ( table for two) the hostess told us it would be a minute because they were clearing a table ( which was fine) he then left to walk toward the kitchen and about 10 minutes later a waitress walked up , walked past me and got a couple that just walked through the door and proceeded to give them our table. She didn’t ask if I had been taken care of, if I was waiting on an order, she didn’t ask anything…. Just bypassed us and sat the next couple. We were then forced to wait another 10 minutes. This wouldn’t have been an issue other than the fact that we were on our lunch break and in a hurry.
UPDATE After their very sweet reply, I wanted to say that I will definitely dine here again! I...
Read moreI took my 69 year old mother to the Madison location on May 8, 2021 and our experience was not so great ! Our waiter Jason G was horrible. He kept forgetting items that we requested. And when he finally brought my mom’s lid for her cup, he slid it on the table instead of handing it to her. I also placed a to-go order that I had to wait 45-50 minutes for. Even one of the hostess noticed how long we had been there and how something wasn’t right because she asked me and when I started explaining she walked away. Our waiter Jason kept giving false hope about my to-go order coming out . It wouldn’t have been a problem, but there were guests who came in after us that ate and got their to-go food and left while we were still waiting on our to-go order. So here we are still waiting and our server finally asked “if we would like to speak to a manager because that’s what people normally do!” I took that as a stereotypical comment . The manager Jacob comes over without introducing himself (I had to ask him for his name) and started making excuses, “saying how the kitchen is behind and how they have been trying to hire more staff, etc”... But how are they so behind when others that ordered food after us, got theirs before us. Also, he asked if I wanted my money back or the food because he could have it out to me in “ 2 minutes” (this was interesting after we have already waited 45-50 minutes) . I told him I wanted my money back and then he said “it would be hard for him to refund me since I paid with my card.” I have never heard that before, but I did not want to go back and forth with someone who showed no empathy. So, he offered me a gift card for 2 of the 3 items that I had ordered. I had ordered 2 Bayou Catfish and 1 Chicken Alfredo Pasta. So then the manager Jacob tells me that he only saw the 2 Bayou Catfish on the ticket and not my Chicken Alfredo . I pulled out my receipt and showed him and told him that the giftcard should be for those 3 items . He gave me the gift card and when I got home to check the balance it was only $40 for the 2 Bayou Catfish and not the Chicken Alfredo too. My whole tab was $102.59. What a disgrace! This was such a horrible experience! I have emailed and completed a comment card on Georgia Blue’s website and I still haven’t heard...
Read moreOther than I was disappointed the roast beef plate was only at lunch and of course I was there for dinner everything else was great. I ended up ordering the Mai Mai covered in creole gravy with crayfish tails. To say it was phenomenal would be an understatement! Though it was supposed to be on a rice bed, I had them leave that off so I could get dessert (diabetic choice 😆). The spinach and tomato under the Mahi was so damn good I want to go back and just order a bowl of the spinach.... seriously! The Mahi was cooked well, maybe a sigh bit over but I'm sure it sat in the window a few minutes. Fortunately the only negative was slightly inattentive service. I get that I was there after 7pm; but when are these restaurants going to go back to bring service oriented? Instead of cleaning and restocking for tomorrow, take care of your customers. I get it, I wasn't drinking booze or $5 glass of tea, but if you see my water is 3/4 empty, bring a carafe and fill it. Also, please stop bringing a new glass or taking it away for 5 minutes to refill and just fill the existing glass at the table. Super easy and costs way less overall because you're not washing as many items. On to dessert, which I forgot to photograph unfortunately. Got the brownie sans three of the four scoops of super creamy vanilla ice cream (again, dusky diabetic choice so I could have something sweet 😋) and left off the chocolate drizzle but kept the caramel and chocolate chips. Unbelievably tasty, fresh and super satisfying. Could easily be shared by two. 100% chance I'll return and 1000% recommend if you're in the area. Wanted to taste their branded bourbon and find out about it but didn't get the chance. That's going to be on my next...
