On 12/7/23, the first night of Hanukkah, I placed an order for two 4-count potato pancakes. I scheduled the pickup for 3:45pm. After I picked them up I swung by Woodman's to get more sour cream and applesauce. I got home around 4:15pm and opened the box and there was only one order of potato pancakes. I quickly called and a woman answered the phone. She checked with the kitchen and discovered that they didn't see that it was an order for two. She said she would refund my money for the second order. I said that's nice, but our dinner is ruined, only one of us got food. We're going to have to either go hungry or figure something else out for dinner. I said it would be nice to get a coupon or discount for the next time since this is such an inconvenience. She said, "I refunded you the food you didn't get". I said, "that's a no-brainer. I didn't get the food so of course I get a refund for that. But I am also inconvenienced by missing half of the food I ordered and I can't go back and get it now since you're closed." She said she would have her manager call me back tomorrow. That was almost three weeks ago. They clearly don't have good service and don't care about my business. The food was good which is sad. I also tipped, which is even more frustrating. It makes me not want to tip because you have to do so before the service is even rendered and it obviously doesn't...
Read moreFood was 4.5 stars. Good flavors all around from our four sandwiches. However the place lacks attention to detail and we won’t go there again:
we placed a curbside pickup order at 12:02 we arrived at 12:15, they said they did not have our order in their system even after we gave the order number I went inside and they did find the order. At that point they said it would be ready at the original time of ~12:35. At 12:45 they said they were just working on the two cold sandwiches. At 1:05 they said those were actually someone else’s sandwiches. we got our order at 1:20. This was four sandwiches with no alterations, and the place did not appear abnormally busy - several customers came in and left before our food was ready. They forgot one of the four sides, and the hot sandwiches understandably were soggy and needed reheating after sitting in the bag for 30 minutes (again, the flavor was great). our family in the car outside saw the cook step outside to hit his vape during this time. Totally get it, vapers gotta vape, but I just want my sandwich to not be 45min late.
The staff was apologetic, offered me water/a soda, and comped one of the sandwiches without me asking for anything, so I don’t hold any grudges to their service. I’ll just eat at more reliable places moving forward: it...
Read moreA few weeks ago now, we tried to place a carry-out order for the Friday fish fry. My order wasn't ready on time, and came out in sealed bags so I could not check it for accuracy. We had gotten meat, cheese, soup, bread, etc, intending to make meals for an entire weekend, and support a local business in the process.
When I got home I discovered that, of the nearly $100 order, half the food was missing or incorrect. In addition, since we had ordered bread, a large handful of butter pats had just been thrown in the bag with the hot food, leaking all over my passenger seat (which still hasn't come clean).
When I called back to ask what could be done, thinking I could pick up most of the missing order the next day, I was yelled and cursed at by multiple employees, who then hung up on me. Eventually I was able to get a refund, but after this hassle I cannot imagine ever going to Stalzys again for carryout.
So many places are trying so hard during the pandemic that it just feels wrong to throw good money after bad to an institution that seems to actively hate...
