Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux - Madison, AL (Outfield Drive) — Restaurant in Madison

Excellent first experience today at 11 A.M. for lunch. Great location as it is easy to get to from 565 or local side streets. Ample parking and there is even a Tesla Supercharger next door. Hostesses greeting was welcoming and quick to provide a table location but we preferred to sit at the bar. Bar staff was quick to serve and attentive throughout the meal. No name tags are used but our bartender Victoria introduced herself and the other bartenders by name, when handing us our menus. She explained to us some of the more unique items on the menu, such as alligator, deviled Horsemen, and letting us know that a turkey burger and vegan burger are even options. The menu was simple not overburdened and had a good mix of dishes, making it very difficult for me to choose for the first time. However, when trying out a new restaurant, I want to know what the core food comparison is like, so we started off with a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, and of course, bone in wings for the wings. We chose the LA kick and hot honey wing flavors on the side both flavors were excellent.flavors. The gumbo had a very good Roux both consistency color and flavor also it was smooth and the sausage provided the kick of spice. The wings were very good. The skin was not tough, or too thick, and the meat was very juicy inside. For the main course, I chose a basic burger with added cheese. My wife chose the grown-up grilled cheese sandwich. Both included waffle fries. The burger was delicious thick, juicy and hand padded you could easily tell. I found no gristle and it was cooked to perfection. The bun did have a coating of oil of some type, which may have added to the flavor, but I did not care for myself just because I feel it is messy to eat. The adult grilled cheese sandwich was nothing short of spectacular as far as I'm concerned I've never had a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. The bread was crisp on the outside and the bacon really complemented the cheese. It also came with a small bowl of marinara sauce to dip in which was an added bonus. Our drinks never got below 1/4 and I'm glad they use paper napkins. I can't wait to return to try some of the other dishes, especially the alligator, boom boom shrimp, and ribeye sliders. Plenty of TVs to watch good atmosphere very happy with this...

Welcome to Town Madison Walk Ons !!! We got a large takeout order for their soft opening today ( or to-geaux as they call it :) … the girl who took the phone order was polite friendly and helpful. Food was ready in the 15 minutes as promised and immediately brought to my car. The server who brought out the food was super sweet ! Got all the food home and the order was accurate which was great ! Now for my food review my favorite of everything we tried was the jumbo fried shrimp they were huge and deliciously seasoned!! The double bacon cheeseburger was fantastic! The redfish with crawfish sauce was great my husband said . We also liked the tuna bowl perfectly seared and the sauce drizzle was a nice flavor addition with the veggies! We had the spinach artichoke dip with these fried crunchy chips loved it !! Well done WalkOns we will definitely be back ! Congratulations on training your staff they did an amazing job !!...

Tried the new Walk-On's on Friday night. Greay addition to the south side of Madison. It was a training session night with management and trainers in from corporate. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. It seemed to be running pretty smooth already. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable, if not a bit over enthusiastic, but I'll take that any day! The Boom boom shrimp was tasty, just right tanginess and a big serving. I had the Orleans dish with blackened Catfish, 2 filets and fried small shrimp in a crayfish ettoufee sauce over rice. Was a good portion and tasted good, not very spicy. Wife had Ribeye Sliders with garlic mashed potatoes, seemed to satisfy her. The bread pudding dessert was different, with Krispy Kreme donuts, very decadent and sweet. The TV situation is superb for sports viewing and they even had Fan Duel showing the Braves. Will be back often during football...
