Use to love this restaurant before the new owners really took it downhill. We have tried to enjoy it over the last few months, but it just is not the same. We went last night and it was a horrible experience. I tried to be understanding about our horrible service, because sure everyone has a bad day right. Our server did not even ask my husband what he wanted to drink, he had to yell it out to her as she was walking away. She took so long to come back for the order he got up and got his own salad plate. I was patient and waited as she promised to bring me a salad plate, twice, so I finally got up and asked for one as well. My husband had to ask twice for refills. I ordered my grilled chicken with light lemon pepper seasoning. It was so strongly seasoned I could not eat it. This is the 3rd time ordering this plate. The first time it was perfect, second time way over seasoned so I mentioned that to the waitress and she said she would have them lightly seasoned and it was indeed written down that way. It was also pink in the middle when I cut it up, I figured it wouod be as it felt undercooked as I chewed it. I was offered to have another one cooked but didnt feel like waiting. They knocked $5.50 off my ticket. Everyone else with me got steaks and everyone had to use salt and pepper and loads of steak sauce because the steaks were flavorless. The meals are no longer worth $115 for a family of 5, so we will not be back. This decision was not made hastily. A few weeks ago I watched as a waitress was berated by management in front of the whole restaurant. Not professional at all. One of my favorite waitresses at that. Oh well, very sad...
Read moreWent here for lunch with my wife yesterday and was very impressed! We were there during a busy time but still didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and my wife ordered a small, custom pizza. The Reuben comes with home made chips and a dill pickle wedge. We both ordered Arnie Palmers (lemonade and ice tea). Our drinks arrived quickly and were exactly what we wanted (I wanted sweet tea and my wife wanted unsweet tea). The meals came within a very reasonable time. The Reuben was really good with plenty of corned beef and the home made chips were nice and hot and very tasty. The pizza was a nice size and very thick (chicken with a LOT of cheese!). The surprising thing was that the prices were so reasonable. The service was spot on and just the way we like it. Our waitress was very friendly and provided just the right amount of attention. She even filled our Arnie's without having to ask (and correctly too!!) and then brought a to-go box for my wife without her having to ask. Perfect!! The atmosphere is ok and very suitable for the type of restaurant with a few TVs tuned to sports events that are fairly easy to see but not overwhelming. It was easy to hold a conversation there even with a near full house. There is a wide selection of food available so most anyone should be able to find something they will like. Next time we are in Madisonville, it's very likely that we will stop for another meal. I certainly recommend...
Read moreThis was our family's first time here. It took a while for us to get acknowledged, despite the many employees walking back and forth in front of us and standing about in front of us, but once we finally were (without a smile) we were seated & once seated we were attended to very well by our server. Unfortunately many items that we had ordered were no longer available because they had run out, so each of us had to think of something else to order. We enjoyed the food but the seating was quite cramped. Had I not been a smaller person I would not have been able to fit into the seat they chose for us because the tables behind us were crowded and full of either large people or adults with tiny children all of whom needed a bit more space than the average family. But we squeezed in very very very tightly. I do think that some consideration regarding appropriate space, people's sizes and needs should be part of placing people at tables because some people just don't fit in the spaces they are placed. They're very clearly a popular place and I can see our family giving them another shot next time we're in the area - I just hope a few improvements and the areas I've mentioned will happen in the meantime. Dining out should be a pleasant and enjoyable experience not a cramped &...
