El Tapatio Mexican Cantina — Restaurant in Madisonville

I went to this restaurant the food was decent, but the waiter that I had was very suspicious! My friend and me went to watch a movie we come out and then we see him lurking in front of the theater. He stared at us to the point where I had stopped everything I was doing and motioned over to my clueless friend. He walked over to us and lifted his eyebrows up and down repeatedly to where it was weird. He then asked for our names and told us his name, which I forgot what it was. He sat down in front of us and then I asked if he was our waiter because I recognized him and he said “yes”. It was over all creepy, but then it got creepier whenever we started walking away he immediately called someone on his phone while watching us and said “I’ll see you later”. He then walked towards us and we seen him following us. The stores in the mall were closed since it was about to close for the day, so we quickly went into Dunham’s and waited there until we got picked up. I will not be returning to this restaurant or mall ever again because of this....

I went when it was not to busy only about 5 customers in the place, I was given a menu that looks like it had salsa spilled in it and no one attempted to clean it. I ordered the beef and chicken loaded nachos, there was no flavor the beef tasted like it was plain hamburger with no seasoning, the chicken was just as plain and very dry, the tomatoes slices they put on top of it we're starting to wilt. I am aware that this is a newer restaurant in the area but with 4 choices of Mexican in the area my recommendation is to go to the other places you will get flavorful food and a slightly lower price.

Food was pretty typical of the local, striving to be authentic kind of Mexican place. Enjoyed my street tacos and the rice was fine. My main complaint is with the order fulfillment - partially on me, since I got take out and was in a hurry to meet up with family. There were three items missing, including my pickiest child's entree. Ugh. It was too much hassle and too many constraints on time to go back and get the order fixed. Just wish places had better...
