As a local Korean, this one of my all time favorite restaurants in all of Illinois. There are other Korean restaurants in the area but Korean Spoon uses authentic recipes that make the food taste just like the food back in Korea, which is so hard to find in the Chicagoland area..! I’ve tried a variety of other dishes as well but I love the kimchi stew as well as the noodles !!! The owners are the friendliest and seem to have such a warm heart. 10/10 recommend the lunch options here and they also have a lot of Korean stews and banchans (side dishes) packaged and ready to be taken home :’) It tastes so much better than the banchans and the gimbap at Joongboo Market down the road

The interior is Korean "covered wagon (poh jang mah chah)" style. The menu is pretty diverse (see pictures). The seafood soft tofu stew (hae mool soon doo boo jji gae) is delicious with a good portion, but priced slightly higher than other Korean restaurants in the area like San Soo Gab San and Joong Boo Market Food Court. Good side dishes (bahn chan). Korean Spoon only serves lunch Tuesday through Friday. Closed on Monday.

Clean authentic Korean food has disappeared over the last decade. This is closest to home cooking you will get. We moved out of state but we always stock up every month when we are in town. Super couple running the business, hard working small business owners with fresh food. Quality is awesome and honest cooking.

I am not Korean, but am widely versed in all East Asian cuisines. A few years ago, the Tribune did a story about how Korean Americans have moved out of "Koreatown" in Mayfair, to the suburbs of Park Ridge, Morton Grove, and Glendview, where, 50 years ago, I sprayed lawns for ChemLawn. I was between sociology careers, but noted that my customers were mostly of Southern and Eastern origin. I got a rice bottle of homemade wine ("you're a good hard working young man,"). So, we visited Korean Spoon right before the pandemic and had a delicious meal. Then they went to carryout, which was too far for us in Crystal Lake. Bottom line: This is a terrific Korean restaurant. kimbop, sundae, and the tteokbokki are delicious. The banchan are fine, and the people are nice. Non-Koreans, of whom I am one, should do some homework before going here. According to the Koreans who have posted here this is legit Korean comfort food, so come and eat. (And carry out! All sorts of pre-made food in the cooler. Raw spicy soft-shell...

Can't say anything about the food - never got to try it. Tried to order through Grubhub several times but each time, they canceled my order even though they were accepting delivery orders. Every time I ordered, they would cancel and suddenly the restaurant was opening an hour or two later. Rinse and repeat. It was obvious they were doing this on purpose.

Why bother being on the Grubhub app if you're obviously not going to be fulfilling orders...
