There are a lot of Greek food places and this stalwart will always be a good choice to go.
They have valet parking, because frankly, when they're busy, there's nowhere to park. It's a small lot in front of the restaurant.
They have remodeled since the last time we ate there and it looks really nice inside, but the weather was nice, so we sat outside. Our server was nice, but needs to retire. She just looked tired and moved slow and we had no idea if she heard us or not. We commend her for still working.
We had a nice dinner. We started with the saganaki. When did they stop lighting this on fire table side? We got it and the fire had already been put out and seemed to have been sitting for a little bit before it was brought to us. Normally it's a little melty and this was just a sad tile of cheese on a plate. It was even served in a sizzling skillet, just on a plate. It was sad.
They did bring us fresh baked bread and we kept asking for more. It's fantastic! If a place has good bread, why muck it up with oil and cheese or butter. It's tasty without and theirs is awesome!
All was made better in the world, at least, for me, as I followed it up with Avgolrmono soup. There's is still one of the better ones around. The flavoring is just right, not too tart from the lemons, some rice, but not overly so. Just a nice soup to cleanse the pallet.
I ordered the Chicken Breast A La Dimitri. It's sauteed in white wine, lemon, and special spices and served with rice. Hey Dimitri, lay off the sauce! My chicken need life preservers. There was so much sauce that the rice was making a chain to help save the chicken from drowning. The flavor was okay and that was probably do to them serving me soup with chicken on a plate instead of lemon chicken. I'm not one who sends food back, but I left half of it because it had drowned and was not worth recovering.
My wife got the Greek salad and said it was good (seriously, if you're a Greek restaurant and you screw up a Greek salad, then I don't know how to help you). She said no olives and it wasn't served with olives. Put that in the "win column".
We'll go back, as we do like this place. I just will order something different as I'm not a...
Read moreWe placed an order to go, and once we walked in the guy by the counter with a cast almost ignored us. We didn't feel welcome and then the girl came out, glanced at us and said that they don't do take outs where in front of our eyes literally she handed to go order to the customer....
I understand that they might be short staffed but the attitude and ignorance that was given !....
I liked the restaurant, the design but they should improve their customer service skills for sure
So I've got grilled octopus and dandelion grass?! The name isn't grass but has something to do with dandelion and I'm saying it's grass because it looks like it and is bitter. Don't recommend, the octopus is good but kind of burnt in some parts .
My husband got a dish with mixture of everything which was really good
Their homemade bread is so good We sat at the bar while we were waiting for our take out to be ready
I'd like to come and dine in inside
Update on 6/22/2021
We had a reservation here last Saturday and although I asked over the phone to have it by the nice green wall with those pink flowers we didn't get it. Food is delicious, the homemade bread is so good, mashed potatoes with garlic, fried octopus, and flaming cheese were amazing. The Greek wine is strong than usual Californian wines
The Greek fries with feta cheese weren't that great as I expected. I had beef mousaka and it was good. Like someone in our party said the food doesn't look good but tastes good, for the most part
We had three desserts out of 6 in their menu and they were okay
I wish they could've offered something for big groups so everyone could share including the main course and desserts. We had hard time over that part, and I was told over the phone they do it for groups of 15 people, well maybe it should be available for smaller groups too, perhaps?! Service was good but it was 8 of us as I said and in the beginning reminding about silverware, napkins and straws is kind of frustrating a bit especially when I'd like to enjoy the company and...
Read moreI have worked in restaurants all of my life and let me say I was not satisfied by my experience here. I rarely write reviews but I feel that it is needed. First, as we are coming into the parking lot, we see that the front lot is full or certain spots are blocked by orange cones. We went to the back lot that had spaces open with no orange cones and parked into one of them. But then, the guy running valet immediately comes over to tell us we cannot park there because it is next to his car? It honestly didn't make sense but we moved anyway. The ambiance is beautiful and very Greek style. The bus boys were on top of it, consistently refilling waters and cleaning tables/messes and assisting to many requests from customers. Give those men a raise!! The lady's hosting up front were friendly and very welcoming. But as it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night it took about 20 minutes for a server to show up to us. But as soon as he came over with lemons he left for another 10 minutes. All we wanted was to order some food!! The Greek salad and saganaki were very good. Highly recommend. I also ordered Greek fries with Feta and when we asked why we didn't receive it the server said he didn't realize I was being serious about ordering those? Anyways, I understood that his main language was Greek, and I am all for people coming to America to have an opportunity we all deserve so I wasn't too bothered by that.. but i was very dissatisfied when the fries came with a pinch of feta... and it was a $2.50 charge. I have never gotten Greek feta Fries with such little feta like what is the point... I worked in a Greek restaurant and I have been to many and never have I seen that little amount and for such high price. (See photo) overall...
