New China 1 Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Maine Township

Let me first start by saying, reviewing restaurants, is what I do as my second job. This place is hands down one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. Not only is the egg foo young patties a fraction of the size anywhere else but they put the sauce on top of it instead of in a separate container like every other Chinese restaurant does. There was one piece of beef in each Patty and the beef fried rice had two tiny pieces in the whole order. The egg roll tasted like it was a month old. I have been to so many Chinese restaurants I can't count. Throughout the Chicagoland area and this is one of the worst. There was plenty of rice but only two pieces of meat. And the egg foo young the two patties which is normally three was the size of one maybe anywhere else. I really should have looked at the reviews before I went here. A complete waste of time. As for the taste of the food very Bland. The egg foo young didn't even have any onions in it it was just egg and one piece of beef. The gravy that goes on top was terrible and the patties were soggy because they soaked it in the gravy. I don't know how this place stays in business. The cleanliness of the restaurant should have the health department in there. It is filthy. Don't go to this restaurant find one closer to the Chicagoland area or anywhere...

Where do I begin? I can’t believe this location has a 3 star rating. I’m being overly generous with 2 stars! I should have walked out quickly but didn’t hoping to find a hidden gem. I didn’t find one. As you can see in my pictures, one booth is used as an office and one is a stockroom. The bathroom was a mess! As you can see in one of my photos, the kitchen is not visible and is blocked off by a stained curtain (see photo). What are they afraid of customers seeing???? I think it was a family of a husband, wife and daughter argued and yelled at each other 80% of the time I was waiting for my food. Wonton soup was palatable but as far as the main course of General Tso chicken, the chicken (I hope it was chicken) was marble sized pieces, the rice was dry but the egg roll was good. It’s hard to screw up an egg roll.

If your looking for good Chinese food, don’t look here!

I will never again order from New China 1. If I can give them no STARS!! They have the most rudest employees how are you going to ask a paying customer with a bill of 51.00 if I’m going to give your driver a tip. I told him why wouldn’t I? Are you Kidding me!!! There was a lady in the background telling the man that I was talking too if I was going to give him a tip. One that’s rude to ask your paying customer if I’m going to give a tip. I tried calling back to cancel my order, and the guy picked up and hung up on me. Again what Business hangs up on someone.
