I've been coming here for over 20 years.
First off this place has A LOT of history behind it for us locals. With that said my review isn't bias based upon that. My review is solely on the food, decor, cleanliness, atmosphere and staff.
I've had everything on the menu here. I will write about my favorites. One thing to know about the food here is everything is made in house. From the salsa, beans and breads. Everything is in house.
Fish tacos are excellent. Fresh fish with a really good cilantro style baja sauce. It's sweet and not overpowering. The pico de gallo is on point. Fresh and flavorful. If you enjoy fish tacos you can't go wrong with this choice.
My favorite. Something you have to try at least once no matter what. The breakfast burrito. It's so simple yet so good. Cooked with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs and monterey jack cheese. The beans are absolutely perfect and could not be better. Thick cut cripsy bacon to perfection. The recipe is so simple yet so amazing. Don't forget to put some green sauce on it and enjoy the spice and excellent taste of it.
Overall this place has always been my go to for breakfast burrito. I honestly can't eat anyone else's but my own. Oddly some people don't like it? I'm not sure why maybe because they're use to a different style breakfast burrito? this one is just simple and done right.
The staff has always been accommodating and well mannered here. Very attentive and professional. The place is always clean. Atmosphere is very local, unless it's summer time. Then all bets are off lol. You'll want to call ahead and order. Or you'll be waiting for a while for your food. This place gets EXTREMELY Busy during Holidays. And during summer? forget it. You'll be waiting an hour for your food if you don't call ahead.
Would I recommend this place? I think that by now is an obvious yes. You won't forget it. All the food is good. Try it out and it isn't all over priced like other places in Malibu.

We ordered two burritos, one bacon and one sausage. I saw they had an extensive side menu, so I asked if we could get a side of scrambled eggs for my two year old. She said she’d have to charge me $17 for it because they don’t offer that as a side. I was kind of shocked, but the word “ok” escaped before I could process it. We stepped outside to wait for the food.
After some time, I came back in to check on the order and she told me it would be ready in 5 min. We were sitting right outside, so I asked if they would bring it out or if I should come back in. She said I had a I come in.
After 5 min she walked outside to our table without the food, and called my name. I left my kids at the table and followed her back inside where she had left the food sitting on the counter. At this point I was irritated but politely pointed out they’d forgotten our drinks. She gave me the horchata, I asked for an extra cup, and instead of handing me one of the cups next to her, she pointed across the restaurant and told me to get one of the exact same cups from the water station.
I went back out, and noticed they’d given us a ham burrito instead of sausage, but after all the bazar service, I just ate it and left. Bummer after reading how excellent this place was. We were disappointed.
There’s a very high end coffee shop next door that offered scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and avocado for $12. I’ll be taking my biz there next time. Crazy service for a $17...
Read moreDon’t come here. The reviews are inflated. Bad service, up charges for no reason, good luck if they make your food right the first time, long waits, tastes bland. It bums me out that our neighborhood is losing restaurant treasures and this one is disappointing and somehow still around despite the reviews saying the same thing and they’re not making improvements. Tldr: Whoever said this $10-$20, I really would like to know what you ordered. My husband got a vegetarian burrito that disappointingly only had beans, rice and eggs (no fajita veggies!) and I got a vegetarian chilaquiles, they charged me almost $5 to add eggs! What is chilaquiles WITHOUT EGGS!? Our order came up to almost $60 for subpar, extremely bland food. One of the women who seemed nice enough also condescendingly instructed my husband, when handed his burrito as if he didn’t order it, what it was, and that you “eat it like a burger”… (to which, he disgruntedly responded in the safety of our home “NO, you eat it like a BURRITO!”) They were also playing a strange, perturbing infomercial marathon and then switched to disturbing news on the tv during our meal. At one point, a grocery cart was in the middle of the restaurant beside our table. I don’t know about you, but I know I could spend $60 on better service, and more food anywhere else. Very disappointed about...
