Szechuan Gourmet Restaurant — Restaurant in Manassas Park

I have never been to the restaurant, but I have ordered for delivery many times. They are the best Chinese place in Manassas. Prices are comparable to similar Chinese eateries. Large menu selection, friendly staff. Over phone or via website, they NEVER get the order wrong - even when I ask for 'not spicy' or extra this and that. Ask about the free eggrolls too. Delivery is prompt and there is no added fee for it. Portions are QUITE GENEROUS, and they don't skimp on meat. Meat is of good quality as well. Egg rolls are decently yummy, as are the dumplings. And their stuff tastes great! What else do you need to know? Good food, good prices, good people. Personal favs: Moo Shi Beef. The included plum sauce is perfect. (ask for 4 extra pancakes because the 4 it comes with won't be enough), sweet & sour chicken - fried puffy chunks of white meat. I didn't care for their sesame chicken though- large chunks of dark meat, no thanks. But overall, their stuff is good. This was my first time ordering here and had my food delivered. I have to say that this was the WORST Shrimp Egg Foo Young Ive ever gotten. Normally, the gravy may be a hit or miss cause it’s done differently everywhere you go but it was the whole meal. I’ve never been disappointed in white rice before, Idk what was going on but it wasn’t giving regular steamed rice. The egg patties, you get 3 patties, which is a lot but they were not good. The patties are thick.. thicker than to be expected with nothing really in them. The shrimp were small and overcooked and i counted 6 in one monster pattie. It had a very little bit of onion, scallions, and you can tell a lot of flour was used as there were gobs of firmness that was obliviously not egg. No bean sprouts and no flavor. I literally picked through the patties trying to get what little shrimp and veggies out to avoid eating a whole bunch of nothingness. ( I wish I took a photo.) The food is good and the portions are huge. I love the shrimp rolls. Very friendly staff and quick delivery. Highly recommended.

Okay, so the above review was a few years ago. I still think their food is very good. My complaint is that it is very difficult for me to get food delivery. Maybe it's because I live alone and only order for one and they don't want to cater to smaller orders; I don't really know. All I know is that at least 50% of the time that I try to order delivery I get told that the delivery guy isn't there or that it will take an hour to get to me. Bear in mind, they are only a couple of blocks away. It used to take 15 minutes at most to get delivery. All of a sudden, it's at least 45 minutes to an hour. I honestly believe it's because they don't want to deliver to someone who doesn't order a lot more food. They didn't used to be that way and I'm very disappointed...
