My husband and I went in for a late lunch this afternoon. We placed an order for drinks and then shortly after and order for beer cheese, a chicken sandwich, and mushroom ravioli. A short time later a man and a woman came in and put their orders in. Their food arrived first (we later found out they ended up with our orders). After about thirty minutes of waiting a server came over to ask if we needed drinks, at that time my husband asked if he could check on our beer cheese order - at this point the table next to us had received the same item even though we arrived and ordered first. After maybe ten more minutes of waiting the beer cheese finally arrives. Maybe twenty more minutes later we’re waiting and waiting and waiting and our meals still hadn’t arrived. At this point the table next to us (came in and ordered after us) had received their full meals. After maybe a total of forty five minutes of waiting since placing our order the same freaking server who took our original order came over and asked us if we were planning on ordering any food. ... what the heck!? We ordered from the same person forty five minutes before and had been sitting there hungry waiting for food. I’m seven months pregnant... we ordered the beer cheese so I’d have something to tide me over until our main order came to the the table and now you’re telling us we will have to wait probably another twenty minutes for food!? At this point the people at the table next to us noticed what was going on and that they had received our food, which they had received twenty minutes before and finished eating. I don’t understand how it is that hard to take and order, put the order in to the kitchen, and then bring the order to the correct customers. I’ve worked in customer service before ... it really is not that hard to get it right. The only two people on staff who looked like they actually have a brain cell and can do their jobs is the blonde woman who was on shift and the man who ended up serving us after the three other idiots on staff kept screwing us over. Everyone else should be fired and the owner needs to restaff and find a better manager. We have been to this restaurant in the past and received mixed service but after this less than pleasant experience that not only wasted our time and left a 7 months pregnant woman starving, we will not be back to this establishment. We didn’t order anything special or complicated, we didn’t expect any special treatment, we just expected to be served our food. The table next to us who ended up receiving our entire food order were generous and picked up our tab for beer cheese and drinks ... not this establishment which should have just comp’ed us the bill for wasting our time and leaving us...
Read moreWow! I thought I was overreacting until I read some of the earlier reviews. My daughter and I randomly chose this restaurant because we were bored with the other brands and wanted to try something "new". I am new to the Manassas area so I figured, why not. Upon walking in, I felt the tension in the air and I immediately wanted to leave. My daughter is only 20 years old and she has a diverse group of friends and they go everywhere so she chooses to ignore or may be ignorant to her surroundings. I, on the other hand, have been around and can recognize when I am not wanted. My daughter wanted to try the place so I stayed for her. The looks from the customers did not annoy me so much as the server. We were not greeted until we had been sitting for about 7 minutes. The server was very attentive to the tables behind us. It was very obvious that she did not want us there. I was still in the middle of eating my food when the waitress asked if she we need boxes and the check. My fork was halfway to my mouth and with a surprised response, I replied, "yeah, sure. Thank you." My daughter is a server and even she noted that this service was unacceptable. We were ignored by our server and no one checked on us except the food runners when they brought out our food. The only reason I left a small tip was because of my daughter and her compassion for servers otherwise i would have gotten my change and left. Based on the reviews from other customers of color, I can understand why they chose not to return...
Read moreThe Mrs. and I took a trip out to Manassas to meet our friends for dinner at a place called Public House Kitchen and Brewery, located on Battle Street. First of all it does not have its own parking, so you will be looking for a spot on the street. If that doesn't scare you off, you'll be treated to a very fun tavern. The dining room is not what you'd call large, so expect some noise on weekend nights. We were shown to the last open table on this Saturday night by a very nice server. My wife started with a Public House Winter Amber Lager, which she really liked. I went a bit darker, with a Public House Darkness. It too was outstanding. It was quite smooth, and the chocolate came through. As an appetizer we had the Candied Bacon. This was basically thick cut slabs of bacon with a smoky maple syrup glaze. Decent, but kind of heavy. For dinner, my wife had muscles. She reported it to be good, standard muscles in a garlic broth. I had salmon with mashed potatoes and fried Brussel Sprouts. The salmon was very good, only the Brussel Sprouts had quite a number of loose leaves, and not just whole Sprouts. The service was extraordinary, and the dining room, though a bit tight, was really fun with a number of very interesting light fixtures. Definately a place we'd go back to again, especially to sample more...
