I almost never post on social media, but this was too appalling not to share. I stopped into The Things I Love in the historic district to witness who I can only assume was the store's owner (or manager) verbally berating her new and inexperiened employee for a small mishap with the register (from what I could gather the new employee pressed the wrong button and then neither of them could figure out how to backtrack the sale). Instead of waiting for customers to exit and then using the error as teaching moment, she continued to degrade and embarrass this young woman for a mistake that even she herself didn't know how to fix. She then went on to chastise her for her choice of attire until the young lady was in tears. When I spoke up on the young woman's behalf, she took zero accountability for her truly disgusting behavior and told me that I was being rude. They do teas on Thursdays & Fridays by reservation. They offer one tea choice that changes with the season. When we arrived, our table had placards for where we should sit. The table clothes were beautiful. I liked them so much I asked if they were available for purchase, sadly they were not. On each plate was a small keepsake. This place is a home goods store with a tea tasting room on occasions. There are so many really cute home goods here. I was especially into the United State tea clothes and cups. There was a different one for each state. Sort of like the Starbucks been there series.
