Thirteen of my coworkers and I just had the worst dining experience at the 110 Grill in Manchester CT. We called in advance and asked if we could all have separate checks. We were told it was possible and no problem. We ordered appetizers and I asked for clam chowder. It never came. The waitress realized this and apologized and told me she will get it for me right now, which I said, no problem thank you. She did not come back, neither did my clam chowder for a second time. I informed my waitress when she came back without my clam chowder a third time, to not worry about it and just remove it from the receipt. It was a large group, I get it, so I wasn't that upset about it at the time. We then waited an absurdly long time for our food to come. I know it was a large group but even so, It still felt like an inappropriate amount of time to wait. Afterwards, we asked for the checks which took longer than even the food to arrive! We were told the checks could no longer be split. We were getting tired and impatient and informed the waitress we would take one check for the whole group. Once we received the check, the total came close to $232. Tired and burnt out, we all had no interest in breaking down the check anymore and one of my co workers decided to put it all on her card. Some of us could not stay as it was past the time we thought we would be at the restaurant. Some of us provided our co worker who paid cash and left. Afterwards the waitress came back and said there was an issue and they charged about $68 to a different card from a different table and the check should have been closer to $300 as the drinks were added to the random persons card. After all that time they just handed my co worker back her card without charging anything and went into the backroom to fix. Conflict erupted due to the confusion between the co workers about who has paid, who hasn't, who needs to pay more, and what the hell is going on. I had enough and asked for a manager. A staff member went in the back to inform the manager we wanted them to speak with us about the situation. I waited over 5-7 minutes to which the manager did not come out. I asked the same staff member to ask her to come out as we had enough and we needed to leave and do not want to dine and dash. When the staff member came out I asked if the manager will be coming out, she seemed helpless and just as frustrated as we were and stated "I am sorry, I tried, I unfortunately cannot make her come out." It felt like the manager had no interest or eagerness to handle the situation. When I finally spoke to the manager and voiced our frustration she essentially blamed the waitress for screwing up. She took no accountability or no measures to resolve the situation herself. It felt like pointing fingers instead of trying to provide a solution. Finally the waitress came back with a receipt for $432!!! WHERE DID THAT FIGURE COME FROM?!?! Accurate or not, 3 checks all higher than the last!? We were done... and to tired to fight it. We immediately paid and left after after 3 hours and with the worst experience we had as a work outing. We would not recommend going to 110 Grill in Manchester CT. We would not recommend our future business outings to the location. I will not recommend my friends or family.... No apologies from the manager, no credit for the poor experience JUST MORE AND MORE EXPENSIVE CHECKS! Oh and to add insult to injury... My Clam Chowder was added to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy girlfriend, mother and I were very excited to try this place! Unfortunately, our experience was unforgiveable. The experience started with sending back two drinks because they were disgusting. I tried a dark n stormy and that wasn't good. Then I decided to stick to the menu, hoping it was a fluke, but the 110 rum runner was just as bad. I couldn't taste the berries or anything at all. Might have been too much simple syrup, but I'm not so sure. Gave up on the drinks, assuming it was a rookie bartender, but was still looking forward to the food. I ordered the pulled pork mac n cheese - which was actually very good! Unfortunately, my girlfriend ordered the shrimp scampi and spit out the shrimp immediately, saying there was something off with it. I ate a shrimp to test the waters, and 5-10 minutes later, I went to the bathroom and vomitted. My mother ordered the Reuben and put it down after a bite, saying that even Jersey Mike's makes better reubens. Apparently the fries were good though, even though they were COLD. While I was vomitting, the manager, Jim, talked to my mother and girlfriend about the bill, claiming that I can't get sick that fast off of eating shrimp. While it's true that food poisoning doesn't work that fast, your body can reject bacterias that can cause it, Jim. Might want to send Jim back to servsafe because he lacks common sense or common knowledge (and this is coming from someone who is servsafe qualified and was also a kitchen manager). Also, Jim apparently ate a piece of the shrimp and said there's wrong with it. Sorry if he gets food poisoning and has to call out! Even though he disagreed, he still voided my mother's meal and my girlfriend's meal - but refused to void mine, the person who got sick from eating their food. He got hot tempered, telling us he hopes he never sees us again, among other things. The server was amazing though! She apologized on Jim's behalf saying he's known to be hot-headed. If there was any saving grace of our entire experience, it was her. I would never recommend anyone goes to this location and would go so far to tell all of my friends and family to avoid this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame for dinner with my aunt and grandmother and we all enjoyed our meals. Our server, Amani, was friendly throughout our dinners. Unfortunately as she was clearing the table she spilled ranch dressing all over me and my brand new down jacket (Christmas present). A woman at the table behind me had to help me get salad dressing out of my hair with her napkin. I could tell the server felt bad because they comped my $24 entree off the bill, but the damage was done. Iām on cleaning attempt number 4 on trying to get the oil stains out. Iāve tried down dish soap, purchased special down wash and tried baby powder/cornstarch. I emailed the restaurant and filled out a ātell me about your experience formā so will update my review once I hear back. But my $350 new winter jacket is seemingly permanently stained/ruined which is just so disappointing and I feel that responsibility needs to be taken by the server (Amani) and restaurant.
Update: 1/5/25, the regional director reached out to me via email offering assistance in resolving the issue. Still attempting to remove the stains, dry cleaning the down is not advised by the brand so replacement may be the only option.
Update: 1/13/25, finally got them to agree to replace the jacket. It's no longer in stock online and they won't just give me a check to purchase it when it is restocked. They also want the ruined on back for "insurance purposes" instead of letting me donate it (still wearable, just slightly stained). But the best part is that after countless hours, multiple cleaning methods, and 8 cycles of washing 99% of the stains have come out. So frustratingly, I'm just going to keep the "almost like new" jacket I wore twice before having it covered in ranch since I need a winter coat and who knows when the color and size will be restocked online.
Please see this as a cautionary tale, don't wear anything of value or remotely nice here. Since getting them to agree to replace it was more of a headache then all of the work to clean...
