Garbage Restaurant, 100% DO NOT GO. Food is average at best. Some of there stuff is good like chaat and some kebabs but very inconsistent. Some dishes aren't authentic like biryani which was good a month ago but this time, it had daal in it. I think they reuse rice, curries, and others from one dish to another.
The reason not to go is the People and the service. The son who works the front is angry and rude. Always with an airpod in his ear. He goes out of his way to intentionally not acknowledge when someone is talking to him. The father and the son are both super disrespectful and treat us like they are doing us a favor by allowing us to dine at their restaurant.
The rude son gave us one plate for the whole meal including appetizers. We had to organize and carry our plates to the counter, get new ones, distribute it amongst our party ourselves. We had to grab our own napkins, had to literally server our own food because the rude son kept piling up food on the corner of the table where it was easier for him to drop it. He didn't even want to make the effort to put the dishes in the center of table or spread them out. Also, this restaurant has no idea what they are doing. The biryani comes before plates and cutlery. The appetizers come after Biryani. 10 minutes after that, we get butter chicken and chicken tikka which are the same dish and the son couldn't even tell them apart when asked. Ten minutes after dropping the curries, comes the bread when the dishes are already cold.
Towards the end, I went up and asked for the check to be brought to the table because the son is listening to his tunes at the register and doesn't pay attention when 11 people are trying to call him. The father thinks I don't speak Urdu and tells his son in an angry tone, "make him pay at the counter, don't take the bill to the table. He should come to the counter and pay it!" So not only does the son ignore and completely mess up the atmosphere of the meal, we also have to service ourself and when we go up to ask for check, apparently that is not correct either.
I firmly believe this restaurant could be a good restaurant and service the Pakistani Muslim community for years to come but not with such rude/disrespectful owner/operators. The father should realize his customers deserve some curtesy and respect. Not a lot but at least give me customer service that is up to par with a local Dunkin Donuts. Do not berate or insult your customers in your kitchen and act like you are doing us a favor by allowing us to dine at your establishment. We will not dine at this restaurant and will make sure all our friends/families...
Read moreOne of the few restaurants my wife actually likes the food in. She says it’s one of the most authentic Pakistani places she has been to (she only eats Pakistani food) in the US. We have been here twice, just to show how much she preferred it. The service is nothing particularly special - it gets the job done effectively enough. The atmosphere is lacking. It looks part American diner and part Pakistani decor without committing to either aesthetic. It’s fine to me since decor doesn’t matter all that much for me as long as the food is good, but for my homesick wife she really felt put off by the lack of coherence. It also feels like the kind of place where you order and pay at the counter, but it a proper sit-down restaurant with proper service.
Overall, I would recommend the food for its authentic taste, but don’t expect a fancy...
Read moreVery quality rice and chicken, I had the Chicken Biryani and the $7 lunch portion filled me up and I only ate 1/3 of it haha. The owner was friendly and gave me an extra hot sauce container to go that tasted very unique, definitely a pleasant surprise. He even declined my offer to tip which I have never seen. Not sure if it was solely because he knew it was my first time but still nice. My only complaints are I wish there was more chicken but there was so much rice I absolutely got my money's worth and unfortunately there were a few bones that I bit on in the dish. You can see them at the top of my picture. I am not experienced enough with Indian food to know if this is traditional or an accident but that is why I rated 4. The picture was taken after I finished...
