Can someone please tell me hiw they were rated #1 pizza in CT? Truly are there any Italians that live in tge area. I've been here 20 yrs. The pizza was awful now as it was than. It's offensive actually that people call this goid food. They have never used fresh dough. It's pre-made disc's if dough. It's that Greek style cardboard pizza. Real Italian pizza has bubbly thick crust with substance...and good flavor. The dough ruins it. If it is fresh made than they are not using proper dough or yeast . It's flat hard crust. Go to New Haven and it's real Italian. Everyone e says there pizza is ny style. No ny style is not flat cardboard. Ny style is more Sicilian thicker fluffy dough and a slice in NYC us equal to two slices here. Ny style is dripping oozing of cheese with garlic and basil flavors. So good you drool while on line. Clearly the voting was rigged and paid off. Who tried this place? Got to FRANK PEPES....THATS MADE WITH "0" FLOUR... that's a flour only bought in Italy. Honestly I'd rather have frozen or domino's than this. Big Y pizza is a good dough minus the corn meal on the bottom. And there grinders? The crust is always flaking g apart like it's stale Italian. IF you want a good grinder go to any of the HIGHLAND PARK MARKET. U GET EITHER 1/2 LB OR 1 FULL POUND OF ANY MEAT AND CHEESE..COOKED OR REGULAR WITH THE EXTRAS FOR 10.00! ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE! ONE GRINDER IS awsome. Please tell me how they stay in buiness. Just look at their pics. Every pizza the same round size. Not freshly made. They take them out of plastic packaging. The bread rolls are made somewhere else. Tastes stale. Nothing is made there accept meatballs. Chicken grinders are good but again... chicken is premade...Tyson frozen filets? Breaded shrimp ...frozen from packages. I watched them. How are they rated number 1 pizza. It's like going into a pizzeria rune by middle easterners...it's just not comparable to a Italian run business. I'm not saying they are middle easternmost but making a comparison. Would you go to a pizza place run by Chinese? OR a Chinese place run by Italians? I don't think one pizza place in thus town is run by Italians. Also look at picks of parking or the tiny ramp to the door. I'm not handicapped but I know many who cannot go there. The width of the sidewalk to the door not wide enough for a person on a wheel chaur..and to open the door you'd have to get out the whhelchair..to get in would be impossible. I can name many place not handicapped accessible in this town. They are looking at lawsuits. You'd think with there reputation they'd upgrade and make the place...

I will never go to this establishment again, the guy working the front is rude! I go in there and say "hello picking up for so and so" as he's the one standing by the register and he legit stared at me and was rude. I think he was annoyed that I was there to actually make him work and not socialize. He tried to play it off like he was joking but his tone and body language stated otherwise. Not only that but be professional especially if I am not a regular customer you don't act like that to a customer that you don't even know. Their pizza prices are expensive, the least this establishment could do is hire professional staff who are nice and treat their customers with respect. Not only that but he didn't act that way to the customer (who happened to be older and Caucasian) that was behind me either! Their food is good but I would rather eat less tasty pizza where the customer service is wonderful than to be treated in such a disrespectful manner. I've worked years in a retail environment so I understand everyone has their days but I always make sure to greet everyone with a smile, not only that but you never know what someone is battling internally so to go in there with a smile on my face expecting to just do something simple and to have such an unpleasant experience just rubbed me the wrong way. I could've made a stink and spoke to a manager, etc but I just wanted to get out of there as I do not like confrontation and I was just shocked at this mans behavior. He definitely needs to be retrained in his customer service. Their food isn't worth the horrible customer service...

I grew up in CT and believe there's something to be said about Connecticut grinders (besides the fact that most states don't use the term "grinder". For my birthday this September, I really wanted a cooked salami grinder from CT. My parents, who live about 2 hours away from me in CT, said "if you want a grinder, we gotta go to CJs". I called CJ's and Nick answered the phone. I explained I live about 2 hours away and asked if there was any way they could prepare a grinder so it'd still be fresh. He replied, "no problem, we do this all the time". They gave me a perfectly packaged deconstructed grinder and explained how to assemble it and heat it up. I also had asked if they had any gluten free options for my wife. He said they did not, but allowed my parents to bring in a gluten free roll. He didn't think it would travel well on the roll, so he cut the roll and provided all the fillings to create it (just like the other one). The grinders were fantastic! They were beyond expectations. My wife loved hers as well. Thank you Nick and the team at CJ's! The attached pictures is after we heated it up.

Walked here from Center Springs Park after playing disc golf with a friend visiting from out of state. He wanted a sandwich and what better place is there to get a sandwich in Manchester than CJ's? Nowhere! If you think there is keep thinking because guess what, there ain't! We ended up splitting half a meatball hot with peppers and also copped a gluten free pizza with eggplant and mushroom. Now, neither of us are gluten free but sometimes a gf crust is a nice change from a straight up gluten bomb. We were already having the meatball grinder so let's explore the menu a little. Both were fantastic. You might want something more fancy now and then but if you just want to get down to business and stuff your piehole with some classic Connecticut cuisine don't sleep on CJ's giant right here in Manchester.

CJ’s Pizza – A Hidden Gem in Manchester CT! I can’t say enough good things about CJ’s Pizza! I grew up eating here as a kid, and now that I’ve moved back to town as an adult, it feels amazing to enjoy it all over again. Their Chicken Parmesan grinder is hands-down the best around — perfectly breaded chicken, flavorful sauce, and melted cheese on warm, fresh bread. It hits every time! What really sets CJ’s apart is the experience. The staff is always friendly, fast, and professional. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. The management keeps things running smoothly Matthew Maratta you are phenomenal!!! — it’s clean, organized, and always welcoming. Proud to have this gem in Manchester!
