Yesterday I went to pickup takeout thai food Pad Thai and Papaya salad. I arrived in the parking lot approximately 10 minutes early. However the described below experience cannot outweigh further investment into this business as a customer and as a person originally from Thailand (adopted). I cannot recommend traveling to this location unless they invest and open a location in a safer area of town that will help them do better business. Hear me out I will help you if you allow me too. Yesterday 6/20 while waiting for my food takeout in the parking lot of Daw Kun I went to my suv's trunk to look and assess the woodworking project I had just purchased from a local NH woodworker (picture attached). I was then aggressively and quickly approached, with my personal space and boundaries violated by a male who asked me what I was doing in the parking lot (less than 3 feet in front of my face as he was possibly trying to enter my vehicle). In that moment I had to decide whether to fight for my life or run to preserve my safety while giving up my vehicle which was still running. He responded by saying that to be careful (as he's extremely close to me) as the neighboring property owner has a semi truck that he moves (no sign of a pickup truck attempting to move anything).... As I repark and head into the restaurant to pick up my food and thinking through this I tell him for both parties safety it would be wiser to voice next time from a comfortable distance away then approaching people aggressively.. of which no apology was made only asking how my wood project was going... I responded by saying the reason I came here was that my co worker at the VA in HUDVASH told me the thai food was good here and that if I was homesick this may be a good place to re-connect (I am the Tai Chi instructor for VA Manchester Whole Health division and all of New Hampshire). I can 100% say that this was the worst customer food service experience I have ever had in my entire life. For the price point and the food quality I would say stick to Thai Food Connection Bedford or the location downtown until they can relocate (no safety issues or aggressive property manager's). I cannot recommend traveling to this location unless they invest and open a location in a safer area of town that will help them do better business. Hear me out I will help you if you allow me too. pt. 2 after seeing "owner" response. Here is my receipt proving that I in fact pre-paid for my food (not trespassing in any way) and as I had said was waiting patiently in the parking lot (facing the building to the right right by the sign).  Here is the ONLY sign that is posted in that parking lot area which reads (NO DUMPING) and the parking space lines are very clearly yellow and easy to see. He in fact walked from the restaurant to approach me more than 100ft from the restaurant to aggressively get into my space. In New Hampshire, self-defense is primarily governed by RSA 627:4 and RSA 631:4.  New Hampshire is a "stand your ground" state.  Your property manager was essentially initiating a potentially violent situation. When I went into the restaurant I told him that it's actually a wise safe idea to keep your distance and to use your voice to ask questions to keep both parties safe and to not break any laws.  Verbal jiu jitsu.

Mediocre **In response to the owner, I'd like to address the fact that I chose common dishes that contained the ingredients that I expect. The green curry was bland in flavor, not just spice. The house fried rice definitely had flavor but that flavor was foul and unpalletable even with the curry. I only put it on a plate to display the contents, before discarding it completely. It was sweeter than American desserts. I used the chilli paste with the shrimp spring rolls. The chilli paste and papaya salad were the only redeemable parts of this meal that was more than 50$ Also to serve such a small portion of white rice with a 20$ entree is just ridiculous.** The only reason I'm not leaving a one star review is because I usually try to give the benefit of the doubt, but what I was served was a bit insulting. The house fried rice is unpalletable, I asked my friends to try it out and they literally gagged. The white rice that came with the green curry, is so miniscule it fits in the palm of my hand. It's almsot the same size as their sauce container. I usually choose green curry to get a feel for new places and this was extremely bland. The only redeemable item was the papaya salad. It had the perfect level of spice (Thai level) and an adequate amount of flavor. I expected the high price, as most Thai places are expensive. But I just wasn't expecting something so bad. This is the first time I've left a bad review for a restaurant.

I was slightly skeptical about the “authenticity” of this place given that we were road tripping from Boston to Vermont and didn’t have too many options available. We didn’t see any Thai folks, only 2 white staff (host and waitress), but admittedly the food was nonetheless quite good. We really enjoyed the fish cakes, and I liked the khao soi as well. We also got a kick out of the sticky rice served in the steamer. The restaurant has a pretty water feature and decor, as well as a wall of tavern games - puzzles from the Dark Ages in Britain (no clear connection to Thailand) that customers can try their hand at undoing/putting back together.

We have lived in Bedford for about 6 years, and we thought we had tried all the Thai places near by, however, some how this place was one we missed. It’s very unassuming, but once one walks in they are greeted by a lovely water feature, a very pleasant atmosphere, and probably one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Pristine. The food was amazing! I ordered the red curry with chicken, as spicy as the kitchen makes it, but any order can be motified to one’s spice preference. It was amazing! The soup was almost spilling out of the sides, they gave such a generous portion. The chicken was cooked really well, not boiled half to death that sometimes one gets in soups. 10/10 Red curry. My husband had the pad Thai with Tofu, and they will make anything vegetarian upon request. This pad Thai isn’t covered in peanut sauce, which we appreciated, it’s delicious, and appears lighter and more authentic than some other pad Thais we have had that cater to the American palette. That being said, it was delicious! My daughter, who is really picky wolfed down the chicken satay, and also ordered the fresh salad grilled chicken wraps, they are basically fresh wraps with chicken. The wine, although not name brand on the menu, was fresh and newly opened. I had the Pinot Noir. It was actually a pretty nice wine. Think mid-range Josh…As for spirits, they only offer Mai Tai’s and that’s ok, the drinks should complement the food. And they do. The owner was our server, and his wife our chef, so this is a place that is about sharing Thai food to others, there is care and quality apparent with every thing one is served. Do yourself a favor, try this place out, and don’t be fooled because it’s right near to Savers and not flashy, sometimes those are the...
