We had just moved to a new city and were exploring the town. It's hard for all of us to get out at the same time, as Mama's back gives her fits, but she was having a particularly good day. The rain from Hurricane Helene had been falling for 5 days straight without a break and everything was soppy. We need a moment of sunshine and something to smile about. That's when my daughter noticed an ice cream shop. "ICE CREAM!", she screamed. My wife and I are both on Social Security, so we don't have a lot of money to attribute to luxuries, but as I said we needed a ray of sunshine. We pulled in and went inside. The first thing that hit me (at 65) was the urge to use the bathroom. They were pristine! While I rendered my business my family decided on their order. I don't know what they got, but when I ordered I got a scoop (a huge scoop) of coconut, and a scoop of pistachio in a cup. It was just plain "LAIRP'N!" All of their ice cream is homemade. In case you're not familiar with the term lairp'n, it's when your tounge looses control and slips out of your mouth and lairps your entire face trying to get another taste. This place is wonderful! It's a little bit pricy, but let me tell you, you could go to DQ and get a Dilly Bar for 5 bucks, but folks this ain't no Dilly Bar! Do yourself a favor. Check...
Read moreas soon as we walked in we noticed a foul smell in the room. we couldn't quiet place it. we waited for almost 12 minutes to give our order. there was 3 people in line in front of us. they had 2 girls working the counter. as we waited to give our order one person in the party of 4 went to use the restroom. he said there was RAW SEWAGE on the floor.... (we had discovered the source of the smell.). we continued to wait to give our order. finally gave the girl our order, and within a few minutes we had our ice cream. we got a small cup(2 scoops) of Hershey's chocolate, a waffle bowl of coffee ice cream, and a tress Latia cone. the Hershey's and the coffee ice cream went into the trash bin, after a few bites... NASTY. it had what felt like grit in it. almost like sand feeling. they both tasted like they were frozen, thawed, and refrozen. both had a minty candy like hint of flavor. I did not try the cone, but my daughter ate about half and the rest went into the trash.( she did say it was much better the last time she visited there.) this is/was my first time going there and it will be my LAST. all in all, the 3 ice creams cost $18 and change,,,, just to go into the trash before we left. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO...
