Black Lions Pub & Pizza — Restaurant in Mandan

We were really excited when Black Lions moved just a couple doors down from Dialectic Brewery so we could have beer and pizza night for the family at Dialectic. We went early yesterday and met our son's family and ordered a couple pizzas. They said I could pick the pizzas up in 30 minutes which was fine. When I went over to pick up the pizza after 30 minutes I was told it would be ANOTHER 45 minutes. Explanation - they said they got a bunch of DoorDash orders which delayed our pizzas. So the people who were on-site waiting for their pizza were being bumped in line so they could fill new delivery orders. How stupid is that. I got a refund and left. Lots of people sitting at tables with no pizza looking unhappy. We will still have our family beer and pizza nights but it won't ever again include...

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Black Lions. From the start, they were out of half the beers on the menu, and members of my party had to try ordering 3-4 different options before finding one that was actually available. The drink service was very slow, and it was clear that other customers were also getting frustrated. Our pizza took well over an hour to arrive, only for it to be wrong when it did. The staff seemed just as frustrated and never offered an apology for the mistakes or delays. While the pizza itself was good, the overall experience—especially the required 2.5-hour dining experience for pizza and beer—was disappointing, and we generally felt ignored...

Outstanding local pizza pub owned and operated by veterans. Come inside and see an ode to the owners days in the military with memorabilia on the walls and sit down at the bar for friendly service and the best pizza in Mandan/Bismarck.
