Ambiance was very nice. Very clean. Coffee was good. Staff was friendly and polite. The gym in the back for kids seems like a really neat concept too.
I LOVE waffles, so I was very excited about coming here, especially with all the 5 star reviews. I am from out of town, and ordered from here twice for a total of four waffles. For each one, I had high expectations and every time I was let down, each time harder than the last. After my first two, I thought I would try and give it a second chance. However, after my second two (Cinnamon roll and biscuits and gravy...couldn't even finish them) there's no way I would ever come back.
Nothing tasted like it was made fresh, let alone in-house...think hotel waffles with store-bought toppings. If these were half the price, I would give it 3 stars, but for a $9 waffle, I expect much, much better.
My advice to the owner would be, look at what you're paying to have everything store bought or frozen, and think hard about how much cheaper it is to make things from scratch...all that's required is more time, but your end product quality will be much, much better. Your concept is great, location and ambiance are great, the execution is very poor. Check out "Waffle Love" or other similar restaurants: everything there is made from scratch, tastes better, and is even cheaper.
I had the following Waffles: Chicken and Waffle - generic waffle batter and frozen chicken tenders reheated in an air fryer. The waffle itself was good, but nothing special. Uninspired and just ok. (2.5-3 stars)
Rookie - Also just ok. Hash browns were not crispy and were more like potato chunks than actual hashbrowns. Waffle kind of fell apart (almost like it was made of scrambled eggs with a little bit of waffle batter mixed in). Flavor fell flat for me, but someone I was with said they thought it was good. Crispy (real) bacon bits would have been better for texture than the soft ham imo. (2.5 stars)
Cinnamon Roll - Inexcusably bad. Literally nothing more than canned Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough and put in a waffle iron, then the canned frosting poured on top. If you're going to charge that much...at least make some homemade creamcheese frosting to go with the canned dough! (1 star)
Biscuits and Gravy - Also inexcusably bad. Another "Pillsbury special" with "free hotel breakfast gravy" and WAYYY over...
Read moreI’m very disappointed to say that this will be my first negative review i’ve ever put on a business. I’m a vender at Country Fest which has been going on since Wednesday. Before we set out to prepare for the event, we been stopping to get coffee at this coffee shop! great food, coffee, and service the passed few days. until today.. me and my bestfriend go in, placed our order, told the girl how to spell my name, and i pushed no tip on my card, but tipped three dollars in their jar. not sure if the girl even seen me do so because as im waiting, i see the two girls gossiping & the one side-eyed me.. therefore unintentionally showing that their conversation was about me(& possibly about my friend). eventually i received our drinks and food while my friend was in the bathroom and i see that my name was spelled extremely wrong.. and there was very VERY little ice in our drinks. and yes i know that it’s dumb to be upset about my name being misspelled and the amount of ice, but i was feeling weird energy come off them before that so i instantly felt they did it on purpose. finally, we finished eating, and as we were walking out my bestfriend heard the girls talking about “3 dollars..” which is the amount i put in their jar. neither of us are sure if they were being ungrateful of the amount i tipped or simply mentioning it. mind you, ive been a barista for over 5 years, since i was 14 and i’ll be 20 in August. & that’s not the service i offer my customers as a barista, cashier, or working in food sales. no customer should overhear workers having side conversations about them whether it’s good or bad, it’s simply immature. nor have my bestfriend and i felt so unwelcomed somewhere like that before. i apologize if i read the girls and the situation wrong. but from my point of view it was unprofessional & i felt this should...
Read moreI always have a good experience when I come here the staff is very nice and work well under pressure. But today was my first negative experience, I usually go on my only day off with my husband and order my usual waffle and coffee ☕. I've never been served by the manager until today. The shop was empty and I was excited to order my food I placed my waffle order then placed my usual coffee order ( keep in mind the menu says any extra toppings are a extra fee ) I asked for my coffee and told the lady my toppings she responded " that's a seasonal thing we don't make it any more". I said oh I know I just want to add the topping and I knew I had to pay for it and I always do and the staff is kind enough to make it for me. But what really got me upset was when she said " we the don't do that and the staff is just trying to be nice to you and its harming the business because we have to sell it and charge for each one and the owners don't like it" with a sasy attitude. the menu says extra fee for extra toppings why would that be there if they wouldn't want you to purchase add ons? I thought 🤔 I just looked frustrated and looked at my husband and he said let's go so I did, as I walked out she didint apologize or wish me a good day all she did was void my transaction and rip the receipt. I still wanted coffee so I went around the corner to another coffee shop the girl was super nice to us and we ended up having a good time elsewhere. I have never felt so little or so out of place in copper dog but i did and I felt so embarrassed by how...
