Underground Bar — Restaurant in Mankato

Disclaimer: This review is based solely on my experiences alone. This is in no way, shape or form, meant to discourage or offend anyone. As a former alcoholic, DRINK RESPONSIBLY, GET HOME SAFE Aside from what I’ve heard, I actually liked underground. Back in the day, I’d go to a party (or two) down there. Yes, the stench is wild sometimes and the bathrooms are outdated - drunk people terrorize most bar bathrooms. However, let me tell you why I actually liked it: The staff was -90%- of the time really nice to me, would not just skip over me when I was ordering. Had great amenities. Endless rounds of pool were played , darts, dancing… you know all that jazz. THE SPACE IS huge!!! Especially if you’re there on a laidback night, you basically have- idk how many square feet. Just know, it’s a lot. I’m talking Big capacity. Variety of music -some tiktok music here and there but overall decent variety.

Not a great bar.

Pros: Bartenders are super nice and the drinks are cheap.

Cons: They don't really check ID's which I'm sure some people love but that's a red flag for me. The drinks are cheap but super watered down. All of the games are full 90% of time because of how many people are in there. The space is super small. Music is so loud that unless you're yelling (even with someone right next to you) it's hard to hear anything. Again, this may be someone's type of scene but I was just...

This bar smells like pee. Bad. I really think they need to rip out the carpeting and throw that idea in the garbage. The atmosphere is good here though. I don't go out much as I'm not into the bar scene and I don't often drink. But we went with a couple of our friends and played some darts. The drinks were good, as a previous bartender, I feel I have a little more scrutiny. But the service was good, my drink was good. My dart game was horrible, no fault of the establishment...
