My husband and I were staying at the hotel and last night we arrived very close to closing time bc we did not realize they closed at 9. Server “L” came up to the entrance and informed us they would be closing in 4 minutes. My husband asked kindly if we could do “last call” and she seemed annoyed but still seated us. We understood we came close to closing and was planning to give her a good tip for that but as the night went on things never got better. She sat us right next to another table whose drinks she refilled 2-3 times throughout their experience but never refilled our waters until we asked. They received their food about 5 min after we arrived so I don’t think they arrived way before us. Same for another table across the room, also received food shortly after we sat down.

My husband who is also a server, stated she may be upset bc maybe she wanted to go home early and that her attitude should change once she gets over her initial disappointment. Sadly that never happened. She made sure to keep her interactions with us short and even tho she never said anything wrong, she said things in a cold way. But, she spoke warmly with the 3 other tables she had and also kept checking up on them. After we ordered, I heard her warmly reassure the table behind us something along the lines of: another table just came in so you can order more. It was hurtful bc she made us feel like a nuisance but was ok with others ordering and was kind about it. In the end, we even left BEFORE one of her other tables who came before us, so it was very disappointing how we...

We ate here at a friends recommendation, since we are new to the area. We had very good service, our server Kayla was spot on and very friendly. Per her recommendation we got two of the most expensive items on the menu, trio of fish and a duo of meat, we thought it would give us the opportunity to taste a little of everything. We also had an appetizer, the crostini's. They were so overly acidic they were almost inedible. The entrees were so poorly cooked we couldn't eat either. The steak we ordered as medium rare, it came well done, the pork was dry, the fish was horrible with flavorless cold shrimp atop plain noodles in what tasted like a canned broth of sorts. Horribly disappointing. We sent both back after only having a few bites. Our very nice server apologized and comped one of the entrees and gave us a free desert. Even though the desert was free it wasn't good either, pretty, but not tasty. Tasted like it had been made a week ago and was delivered in a box by a food distributer. The atmosphere was lack luster as well, little boxes of cereal sitting from hotel breakfast, and staff setting up for it for the following morning. This was a horrible waste of money, but more so a great disappointment when you are so looking forward to great food on a night out, and instead you end up getting sub par over decorated food,...

Service was excellent and we were seated right away(with reservations but on a weekday would not be necessary). Our waitress was patient and did an excellent job. Food was even better, we did the date meal deal thing and for the price I could not have asked for a better meal, I was not too fond of the olives as the very early appetizer but it was a unique take on olives and as a appetizer, of course bread and butter went with it and the bread was delicious, next we had the spinach artichoke dip, it was very good but the bread could be a little bit crisper, next came our salad which was the Cesar salad, it was perfectly dressed and was delicious. Finally we got out main course and it was amazing she had the some dragon something and I had the spicy sausage pasta dish, both very very good, not over sauced and everything perfectly cooked. We were so full we had to take the desert home. Everything was brought out in an extremely timely manner and we barely waited for our food in between courses. Food proportions were very generous and we both ended up taking food home for left overs. For the price and the excellent and quiet atmosphere I would recommend this place to anyone for a date, a lunch get together, or just a nice quiet meal. I will definitely be...

This may be ONE OF THE WORST MEALS I've had in a long time. Let me elaborate. First, any review prior to June 2025 reflects prior private ownership. The restaurant is now owned and operated by the Hilton corporation. I dined at Olives on a Saturday evening with 5 other companions and I was able to taste three items on the menu. All of the diners left a good portion of their meal unfinished. LAMB KABOB (see photo): salty, way over spiced, over-cooked severely (burnt), and texture was mealy. The tabbouleh side was a combination of only parsley and tomatoes (no grain) and the hummus was very coarse - no creaminess. HAMBURGER: was so overcooked and dry that calling it well done would be an understatement. PORK MEDALLIONS: dry and so tough that a skilled leatherworker wouldn't even use them to make a wallet. If you read this review and think "how bad can it be?" and then dine there only to find this is a fair and accurate review, you only have yourself to blame.

If you care about a very high quality great tasting food, this is the place you should be visiting, Even if you are from a big city, you will be surprised by what this restaurant can offer. The price is reasonable compare to the quality of the food. I was visiting Mankato MN for the first time and didn't expect this high quality food in a small town. Though you will also be surprised by Mankato itself, that how vibrant this beautiful city is and what it has to offer to you. I wish nothing but the best for Olives and the city Mankato, MN. Hope Olives can keep their quality this high in future as well.

The service was great. They have downsized their menu due to costs, no quail, duck or lamb. The other menu choices are great. I had the small caprese salad and the chocolate martini. Son has prawns with angel hair pasta and a grape tomato with mozzarella balls salad. Hubby had the Phoenix & Dragon dish pasta with a curry sauce with shrimp & chicken. They were not serving creme brulee so we skipped dessert. We will definitely go back because the food is delicious and friendly service!
