Tonight I stopped in to @piperbellesbbq and I treated myself to a bbq dinner- and WOW did they knock my socks off! My plan was to get something to go, but the atmosphere in the restaurant is so nice I decided to sit at the bar and enjoy my BBQ in house. (By the way, no alcohol served but BYOB) Their menu contains just the right amount of options and it didn’t take long for me to pull the trigger on the beef brisket/pulled pork combo with smoked mac n cheese, street corn, and some of the best damn collard greens I’ve had in a long time. The meat was delicious of course- even better paired with the three sauces I felt were the standouts (pictured), the street corn was smokey and with a slight hint of heat, the smoked mac was everything you’d hope a good mac and cheese could be… and the greens! The greens themselves were definitely fresh, they have a sort of hot honey flavor to them which surprised me on the first bite- but I’ll be honest they were the only thing on my platter that I finished. Whew, so good! The cornbread was heavenly. Just the right amount of stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouthness. If you know, you know. Even the sweet tea is noteworthy- definitely fresh brewed and not overly sweet. I sucked down two glasses! I was too full to finish my platter- I brought more than half of my meal home which makes the $40 tab pretty well worth it- and I also had my apple bourbon bread pudding boxed up. Now, bread pudding is one of my all-time favorite desserts so they had some big shoes to fill in my opinion. When I returned home with my doggie bag I went right in for a few bites of my dessert- which was paired with creamy vanilla bean ice cream, I might add- and HOLY SMOKES. Not too sweet, the bourbon flavor is very subtle, and every bites melts like butter in your mouth. You guys- I didn’t go in expecting to write a whole food review, but damn is this place worth it! Please take my advice and make Mountville your next stop for a good BBQ lunch or dinner! I know for me, Piper Belle’s will be in heavy rotation from now on! I’m stoked that they opened this brick and mortar close to my house so I don’t have to chase their food truck whenever I’m craving...

After a long day at a wrestling tournament, we arrived at Piper Belle’s BBQ with nearly 30 hungry wrestlers and coaches — just 20 minutes before closing. Most restaurants would’ve turned us away. Not this one.
Amy, our server, was incredible. She handled our entire group — almost 30 people — completely on her own. Every order was correct, everything came out quickly, and she even split each bill individually to make checkout easier on us. That couldn’t have been easy for her, but she never once showed stress or frustration. When I asked if they add a gratuity for large groups, Amy said no — they simply trust their guests. That kind of confidence and kindness is rare, especially with a big group of mostly kids who might not always know how to tip properly.
Kaci, the owner, shared that the restaurant is named after her daughter, which made the whole experience feel even more personal. It’s always great to see a small business owner so hands-on and committed to serving people the right way.
And let’s not forget Brandon, the chef — the food was absolutely phenomenal. Every single meal was spot-on. From the tender ribs and moist cornbread to the flavorful sides, not a single person had a complaint. It was a five-star meal across the board.
If you’re anywhere near the area and want amazing BBQ with heart, Piper Belle’s BBQ is a must-visit. Friendly, fast, delicious — and run by people who care. If I lived closer (I’m from New York), this would be a regular spot for my family. It’s that good. Highly...
Read moreMy wife and I finally had a chance to check out the new BBQ spot near Lancaster. We ordered the pulled pork, pork ribs, and burnt ends.
Of the three, the pulled pork was probably the best, though overall it didn’t completely blow us away — it tasted heavily based in pork tallow before serving. The burnt ends were extremely fatty — enough that I initially thought it might be pork belly — but the bartender was very helpful and confirmed it was the traditional point cut of brisket. It’s possible the later visit (around 7:30 PM) affected the food quality a bit.
The ribs came heavily sauced with a rich BBQ glaze. If that's the standard prep, it would be helpful if the menu mentioned it, or if there was a dry-rub option for those who prefer it.
Sides were a little hit or miss. The collard greens were flavorful but leaned too sweet, missing a bit of the expected bitterness. The complimentary cornbread wasn’t our favorite, but the brisket beans were a real highlight — full of smoky, savory flavor.
Overall, it’s great to have a new BBQ option in the area, and with a few small tweaks, we think it could easily become a...
