Complete nightmare and nothing seemed to go right the entire dinner. The wait was 25 minutes. We checked in at 7:22. Wait 25 minutes and we were seated by 7:50. We sat over 15 minutes till we got any drinks. Refills were impossible. Other people were frustrated with the servers. We had 4 meals. My son got the kids Shrimp. I got the Fish Friday & a side order of shrimp. The other 2 ordered were chicken tenders. Our orders came out over an hour after we were seated. Almost 9pm. My sons food was completely wrong. They gave him chicken tenders, my fish was dried out and so chewy I couldn’t eat it. And I’m not that picky, I ate 3 pieces and it was bad. The manager came out on her own cause she knew it’d been a bad night. She told me that was the last of all the fish they had and it was from the bottom of the bag. I told her my son has no food. I was much more concerned about him at that point. They finally got his food and failed to bring his side and dipping sauce. I finally got to order. I was afraid to order anything fried or a little timely. I got a regular burger instead. Finally at 9:22 I was able to eat my burger while everyone waited on me. Other customers that’d been seated after us were all gone by then. I have to give 2 stars after this circus act cause they discounted the bill to almost 50% and gave us all a slice a pie to take home. Even if it was only fresh for that day it was a decent gesture

Hunger, a formidable foe, it is. To Cracker Barrel, I ventured, seeking balance in the Force… and a well-prepared meal. Ordered, I did, the Smokey Southern Grilled Chicken, accompanied by Hashbrown Casserole, Mac and Cheese, Cornbread, and a Side Salad. Satisfying, each dish was. The chicken—flavorful and well-cooked, strong with the smokey essence. The casserole, rich and hearty. The Mac and Cheese? Creamy, comforting—a dish of the Light Side, indeed. Service, kind and attentive the waitress was. A little slow, the food’s arrival, but patience a Jedi must have. Short-staffed, perhaps? Many tables, unbussed they remained, but the restaurant’s spirit endured. The gift shop—ah, a true treasure trove! Many cute things and sweets to choose from, there are. A temptation of the Light Side, it is, though the credits quickly disappear! Value, strong it is. A meal and experience well worth the journey. Would I return? Yes. The Force is strong with this one… but a few more hands in the dining hall, they could use. May the Fork (and the shopping bag) be with you. Always.

I was a bit surprised by the overall experience. When we were seated, there was food and trash all underneath the chairs and table, and the grout looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. It took over 30 minutes just to place an order when the restaurant was less than half full. I stepped away from the table for a few minutes, and when I came back, my food was at the table as well syrup spilled all over the table (picture attached). I asked the waitress if she could please clean it up and if I could have some more, but that never happened. I went ahead and ate the French toast without it and just moved around the puddle of syrup. My wife attempted to eat her roast beef, but she had me try it and it was way over cooked; too tough to even chew. My daughter made a comment that her pancakes tasted weird, so I tried those, and they tasted like frozen pancakes rather than fresh made. I will say the waitress was very nice, but she was slow and forgetful. This is the lowest rating I have given in years for any restaurant.

Sadly, our experience on 7-1-2024 at the 100 Stander Avenue in Mansfield Ohio was terrible. We were a party of 6 , I arrived at 4:50 pm and the rest of our party arrived around 5:10 to celebrate my grandson's birthday.

After ordering it took almost an hour for our food to arrive, we ordered 3 chicken and dumplings dinners, one meatloaf dinner, a grilled chicken dinner and I ordered the hamburger steak. My hamburger steak was very dry, and did not present well on the plate all of our orders of mashed potatoes were cold and hard with the gravy over the top having a film on it from sitting.

My grandson also ordered mac and cheese with his chicken and dumplings and they literally scraped the bottom of the BURNT pan and served that on his plate, he ended up trying to pull out all the blackened mac and cheese. Our server who was young was polite and did keep stopping by the say, "hopefully it won't be much longer" However, no new drinks were provided until I asked for them, which sadly was when all the ice had melted and there was nothing left but watered down beverages.

Food wise the only thing that was good in my opinion was the biscuits, however, they were not brought to the table until after our meals were brought.

Looking around the restaurant there were several oil lamps with no chimney (globe) including ours. The game that sits on the table that is a staple of Cracker Barrel was missing many of the wood pieces. Making it impossible if someone were to want to pay it.

It was not a busy evening in my opinion. A lady who was possibly the manager did keep coming out and stood by the fireplace several times, however, at no time did I see her interacting with any guests, she appeared more lost than anything.

What is really sad for me is I worked at this particular restaurant many years ago and at that time the food, service and management was exceptional. However, the last several times we have gone our experiences have been as this one was. Given my last several visits to this Cracker Barrel I would not...

Today, New Years Day, we came to Cracker Barrel with a larger group of 14 (8 adults and 6 kids) and had the worst service we have ever had going out to eat. We understood that we had a larger group and we knew it could be busier being the holiday so we tried to call ahead. You cannot do this and you must do it on the website, fine we did that. Still upon arriving we had to wait 45 minutes for a table. We were seated at 2 tables next to each other which was fine. Our real issues came after we placed our order. One table had one waitress and we had another (Patricia). Food came out to the first table and unfortunately, my daughter was sitting at that table, but we were at the other. She did not get her food with them since her food was on our bill. Our table and my daughters food did not come for another 20 minutes after. My husband had to go ask for coffee refills, a drink that was never brought, and to ask where our food was. Finally ours came but it was not all there. Two people had a meal that came with biscuits and gravy which was not delivered. After asking a few more times, bowls of gravy were delivered. We were told that's how it comes and you just use the biscuits on the table... weird but fine I guess. Thank goodness the tables around us had napkins and hot sauce, otherwise we would have never gotten them. Several of us have worked in restaurants and we understand that sometimes the kitchen gets backed up or a waitress has too many tables. Our issue was that our waitress never even told us sorry for the delay on our tables food or even came to check on us during this entire time. A simple check in would have made a very long wait much better. Bottom line is, after a 2 hour meal (with 4 young kids 😬) we left very unhappy and not wanting to return to a Cracker Barrel...
