Had a late lunch here on a Sunday afternoon, we were surprised that they weren't that busy. I feel like Mexican Inn is a go to in Mansfield. The biggest kudos of all goes to their staff. From the hostess, to the guy who brought our chips, our waitress, then the girl brought our food... each person was so friendly & attentive. If I owned a restaurant I'd want people like them to work there. The chips (both kinds) were just really greasy. Don't get me wrong, we still ate them & it wasn't all of them but I'd say a third or half of them you could see the oil glisten on the chip. My friend had also ordered a pick three combo, they got her enchiladas wrong (requested two chicken, one cheese - got all chicken) & we were starving so she dealt with it. Mistakes happen, it was still good though. I couldn't decide what to get so I had the sampler. The beef quesadillas I liked the best - great portion of beef inside of it with tender meat. The chicken flautas were good too... but again, very greasy. Nachoes were so-so, topped generously & that was appreciated! We also had fresh corn tortillas with butter that came out before the meal, don't pass on these. I'll still come back but I do hope they can cut down on the grease a bit!

I have been going to Mexican Inn (original locations in Fort Worth) since before I was born. I was excited when they opened one in Mansfield many years ago, then sad when it was changes to a different brand, and then excited again to see it return. Haven't been out to eat since then because of the pandemic, but finally got to go and was deeply disappointed. The food was not bad, it was actually pretty good... But it was NOT the Mexican Inn food I had been craving and grew up on. The basket of two kinds of chips should of been our first clue, the chips and salsa were not quite right, and 'my usual' order of Deluxe Nachos did not have the same taste either. Again, nothing was bad, and the service was fantastic, but using the Mexican Inn name and then serving different food just blows it for me. I will have to head to Fort Worth to cure my actual MexInn craving.

I had high expectations having visited Mexican Inn a long time ago when it was open in Arlington and now I can only think back when this restaurant was at its peak. My visit was a bit disappointing. The food was good, the price was a bit too much I think. Guacamole - nice and tasty to accompany chips. The salsa was also good and standard with chips. I'm not certain, however I believe the chips are home made and and very good served warm. The flautas and enchiladas beef and chicken are great accompanied by their rice and beans. Now the ribeye, quite frankly I should have asked before I ordered, ribeye wasn't made to be served the way it was served however it was still okay. I think what leaves me a bit down is the fact there was disco music playing, and the ribeye, the ribeye disaster.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant out after seeing our other choice and had a 100 minute wait. This restaurant had a 30 minute wait. Great! I was ready to try this place I heard it was good. We arrived and were checked in by the hostess. She said 20- 30 minute wait. I said we will be in the bar. We sat at the dirty bar top. After 15 minutes a person appeared and said I will be with you soon 6 drinks later she helped me. She was running the bar side restaurant, the bar top and pouring for the whole restaurant. After 45 minutes we realized we still haven't been seated. I went to the hostess stand and waited 5 minutes, gave me enough time to see our names marked off in red. I asked the hostess why our name was marked off and we haven't been seated. She said oh, I can seat you now. Then I walked back to the bar to get my husband and she was calling out someone else's name. I simply said this is for us or someone else? She said I guess it's for you since they are not coming. We were seated and a few minutes later a waitress appeared. She took our drink order and went her way. Chip guy came and gave us some food as chips and salsa The waitress came back and we ordered queso and placed our order. It took another 15 minutes to receive my drink from the bar. After another 45 minutes we asked where our food was. She went back to the kitchen and was bringing a plate and to go boxes with her. She handed my plate to me. Btw, the red sauce was brown and the cheese sauce had a hard layer on it. She said beans and rice are ready for the other plate but haven't started the fajitas. We decided it would be better if we just left. We cancelled that order and put the other plate into a to-go box. The manager did come without the request of us. He did comp the food and hopes of us coming back. The poor staff was so short handed that everyone was feeling it. It was clear they needed help. It was a horrible first experience and my husband doesn't plan to go back. I ate my food the next day and I enjoyed it even as a reheat. I hope the staffing gets better to serve the patrons that continue...

I try not to give negative reviews, but tonight was awful. There were 6 of us and we waited at the bar area. Asked if we could push 2 tables together and we were told no. There were 4 empty tables in the bar area. We said ok, no problem. We were told 15-20 min wait. After about 15 min, the 6 of us overtook one table. We waited, and waited, looked at the time and it had been 45 min. My husband asked how much longer and we were told, 2 people ahead of us. Ok no problem. 20 minutes later my son in law asks how much longer. They said they are pushing 2 tables together, we will be next. 10 minutes later we FINALLY get seated. We ordered and our server was so sweet and very helpful. We were at the table for another 45 minutes waiting on our food. When we asked she said it was the next ticket. The people at the tables around us ordered after us and got their food before us, by 15 minutes at least. We looked over and there was a table for 8 that had 4 people at it. People that got there after us and were seated before us at a table that easily could have accommodated our party. Our food finally came out, and mine and my 2 kids food was cold. We got a manager that did take care of it, she remade the food and it came out quick and hot and she did remove them from our bill which we greatly appreciated. She was helpful and did what she could. Just be prepared if there is a line, there will be a very long wait, longer than what they tell you it will be, and watch the tables around you and if they are getting their food before you and they sat after you, say something. We appreciate the server and the manager taking care of the issue, but I don't know that we will return to...

This Mexican Inn location used to be excellent. Then, for some reason it closed and reopened a few months later under a new name. The food just wasn’t the same and within a few months closed. It reopened again a few months later as Mexican Inn but the food wasn’t what it had been for many years. So, we have been going to the Fort Worth location on East Lancaster for about a year and a half. The food is what we used to get at the Mansfield location. Tonight we decided to try the Mansfield location again. The food is back to what is was and has been for years. This location doesn’t bring you your own bowl of chips. They are in a basket and it’s a half and half mixture of their traditional chips and regular tortilla chips. I had to ask for my own bowl of their traditional chips. I salt them, my husband doesn’t. The main problem I saw this evening was the girl making the corn tortillas. She should have been wearing a hair net. At the very least she should have pulled her long hair up in a ponytail or a bun. In the 30 minutes we were there she used her gloved hand to push her hair out of her face 4 times. She did not change her gloves. I did not eat the tortillas. When you prepare food your hair should be confined so it doesn’t fall...
