I started to not leave a review at all on this place but feel I have no choice so hang on.
We walk in at around 4:30 on a Friday to an empty hostess station. No problem since they are probably seating someone else. We wait several minutes before the hostess shows up. She takes our information telling us it will be about a ten minute wait. There aren't that many people in the restaurant at all and many open tables and booths but ok.
We finally get seated and get our menus. Then we wait. Again. After sitting for several more minutes we get our drink order taken and order the Range Rattlers. They are usually excellent at every other Salt Grass. And we wait. Again.
After about 10 minutes more our appetizers arrive at the same time as our drink order. We then order dinner and the fun begins. Salt. Simple, plentiful salt. The humidity had solidified the entire salt shaker to the point not one grain was coming out. We get our waitresses attention and she apologizes and leaves to retrieve more salt. And we wait. The Rattlers were undercooked and I believe that is where the whole issue began...but that comes later. We grab another worker as they pass by for salt. She grabs one off the table across from us. It is solid as well. Now the manager shows up. Never introduces himself or says a word. Just reaches ACROSS the table OVER our food and grabs the salt shaker. Big no-no! He then tells us they have had this issue for the past few weeks. My wife tells him a not-so secret of the trade by putting rice in your salt shakers to absorb the moisture. Every other restaurant on the planet does this. He acted surprised. He says he will bring more. In about three minutes he shows up with a dipping cup full of salt-wet, clumpy salt. Ok.
Our dinner finally arrives. My wife ordered the fried shrimp and Brussels. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, Brussels and baked potato. Everything was hot except the shrimp. It was more room temperature. The potato was a weird color and had a strange flavor. The gravey type stuff for my chicken was the most bland and odd tasting stuff I've ever experienced. Hint: gravey shouldn't be yellowish. The Brussels were excellent. And now the fun really fires off.
The manager was notified by our waitress of the cold shrimp. He offers to make it right. Cool. But we told him we were good and not to worry about it. This was before the we discovered the rest of the meal was terrible. We are not looking for a free meal or discounts so we didn't say anything else.
About a minute and a half into our long-awaited meal my wife starts feeling bad. Really bad. She excused herself twice to run to the restroom. The second time she requested a to go container. The bill arrives and the manager had removed the shrimp dinner from the ticket. Cool. I had a talk with the waitress about the quality of the food and the flavor.
We got home and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Neither of us felt good after that. The common denominator in this meal was the Range Rattlers. This is the only thing we had in common and they were undercooked where the jalapeños were crunchy still. Not sure what the process entails on this recipe but maybe the shrimp inside was undercooked? Maybe the cheese stuffing was bad? Don't know but that is all it could've been. I do know we will avoid this location like the plague!
We do appreciate the waitress and the manager trying to make it right. But the entire dining experience was just chaos from the moment we walked in. It was supposed to be an enjoyable anniversary dinner that was anything...
Read moreMy family and I were very disappointed with our experience here due to the poor service from our waiter. He was attentive at first when he took our order but after I politely told him he got two of our orders wrong he was very dismissive, which made us feel unwelcome. While we understand that restaurants can get busy, there is no excuse for unprofessional behavior, especially after getting our order wrong. I asked for a well done steak with a baked potato on the side, and as soon as I received it and cut it, I noticed that it was rare, which I cannot have due to medical reasons. My son had ordered chicken tenders but received pizza instead. Once again, like I’ve stated previously I was very polite and respectful when I told him about the mistakes and he took the plates back and apologized but he never approached our table again. A different waiter took my plate, but I noticed that they removed my baked potato and gave me mashed potatoes instead and it had been a whole hour and my son’s 3 CHICKEN TENDERS were still not ready. I had to get out of my seat and go find our waiter since he was avoiding us, and kindly asked him for my son’s meal, then he finally magically brought it to our table ASAP. Which makes me think that it had been sitting there the whole entire time! I will say that a kind man in all black was helpful and took my baked potato out for me when I told him about the situation, and another lady with black and purple and a slick ponytail also approached us to make sure we were okay which I truly appreciate. Our waiter didn’t even take us our check! I had to ask a different waitress for it, and no one came to pick it up so my brother had to go to the bar to pay, so it wasn’t a very pleasant experience overall to be honest. I really wish I would’ve got their names but I didn’t , but my family and I will surely never be dining in at this location!
It was not busy at all when we were there.. there were about 3 tables in total eating in our seating section. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue, because customers deserve to feel respected and cared for...
Read moreHorrible experience. Flew in from FL to celebrate my daughters 19th bday with my family. 16 of us went to dinner here. I wore a brand new white summer dress. The waitress by accident of course poured red wine in my lap. The mgr on duty was as nice as he could be and we tried everything we could in the bathroom to get it out but no luck. I sat the rest of the night with towels tucked under me and between my legs due to my dress being so wet. Then of course by the time I got back to our table everyone else was eating and my food was cold. The replaced my meal and the mgr gave me a bus. card for the higher up mgr and said someone from head quarters would call me to take care of the issue. I did get a call from a women named Jennifer who made me feel like the incident was my fault. She asked me to send her photos of the stains and the receipt from when I bought it. I did this. She also said I had to send them my dress. I told her I did not feel comfortable doing that because she would not give me a guarantee they would compensate me. I reached out to other mgrs and they all were very nice but said they could do nothing from the restaurant level, everything was handled by corporate. A district mgr named Scott even called Jennifer on my behalf but she refused to do anything for me unless I gave up and sent them my dress. I refuse to do this as I feels this is totally over the line. She has photos showing the stains, my receipt and I even went back to the boutique where I purchased it and took a photo of a new dress so she could see how nice and white it was and the actual price tag on it. We spent well over $600 with them that night and for a $153 dress they would not compensate me anything. I even asked if they could give me a gift card and then it would be spent back at their restaurant and got told no. This was very insulting and we will never go to their restaurant again nor will any...
