Rancho Fiesta — Restaurant in Mansfield

Normally in the past my visits have been without problem or incident and have always enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and their food... However I just stayed with my family and we were all served bad sour cream on our meals... We all noticed it immediately and notified the waitress to which she promptly took our meals back to have them replaced... When my mother requested that they supplement the bad sour cream they just served her for some guacamole she was denied... When we spoke with the owner assuming that surely this decision was a mistake he insisted to us that the sour cream was in fact perfectly fine despite the fact that we ALL still had the lingering taste of spoiled sour cream in our mouths and that he had already replaced our meals for no good reason simply to appease us and that he wouldn't be accommodating any further requests because the guacamole is so expensive... To which I tried to explain as calmly as I can that losing four regular guests who pay well and tip well who will never be coming to your establishment again is even far more expensive than losing a scoop of guacamole but what would I know about running a business ;-) so we all Departed the restaurant hungry and unsatisfied without paying a dime and quite frankly insulted only to never return again :-) turns out there's plenty of other great Mexican restaurants in the area where they don't treat their loyal well paying customers worse than the spoiled...

This is a nicely decorated Mexican restaurant full of the typical sombreros on the wall and sun art work. I even saw a cactus at the back of the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and took my order in a timely manner. The drink arrived quickly along with a basket of tortilla chips with a small carafe of the salsa. It was not spicy and I would say it is safe for people who don't tolerate a medium or hot salsa. I ordered the Arroz con Camarones which is a staple in the Mexican restaurant industry. The dish arrived with the usual veggies, yellow squash, mushroom, zucchini, broccoli and these had been generously seasoned with a southwest type seasoning salt. The white cheese covered everything and it had enough seasoning in it that the salt began to become overwhelming by the end of the meal. The shrimp had been similarly seasoned. I loved the flavors of the veggies and cheese with the Mexican rice bedded on the plate. I was thinking I would be thirsty later as the salts would be kicking in. Looking on the bright side ...I was not going to get leg cramps! All in all it was a good meal so I give it a thumbs up...

I placed an order for pickup on a busy Friday night. I made special requests for my food. The hostess told me my food would be ready in 15-20 minutes which was surprising to me. I arrived almost 25 minutes later, paid for my order and was told my food would be right out.

I then proceeded to wait an additional 20 minutes before someone asked me if I would prefer to sit. I stated I was almost ready to ask for a refund and explained the situation. The server went back to check on my food and said it should be out soon.

5 minutes later I finally spoke to a manager, he finally went back to check on my food and came back with it a few minutes later. I asked him to speak to his staff to be more realistic with expectations on a busy Friday night.

Got home, all of the appetizers were cold, not even remotely warm. All special requests were missing. And the quality of the food that wasn't cold wasn't great. I will definitely NOT be giving this place...
