Monical's Pizza — Restaurant in Manteno

Make sure you free up your whole day before showing up to this establishment! I would be fine with a little bit of a wait if the food was better than moldy pizza you would find on the side of the road!!! I look into the kitchen to see upwards of 7 people standing there doing quite literally nothing. They robbed me and everyone else in the building of their time. Absolutely ridiculous! If anything they should be paying me to even walk in the building. In all honesty though I think Mr beast found himself a new challenge, 1 thousand dollars for every hour someone can wait for thier food in this building. It would be a free video idea for him as no one would be able to wait for this long. You can order a simple glass of water and still not get it for upwards of a hour. You would have better luck going to the Pacific and drinking water there. The drive would still take less time than this abomination. I think Monicals as a whole would save money destroying this building. I have already booked an appointment to a local hypnosis professional so he can make me forget about this terrible experience. After hour upon hours of waiting for food me and my table were just informed that our pizza hadn't even touched an oven yet. How? This is absolutely infuriating and this has opened my eyes to the corruption and hideous behaviors from Monicals pizza. I would recommend to everyone in the world to never even look at a Monicals pizza ever again. If someone was to walk into a Monicals I believe now that they should be promptly and thoroughly taken care of in the only way seen fit, that would be jail time of course. A life sentence should be given to any and everyone who walks...

I just found a new faith in humanity. Im a truck driver and was on my way to my Truck terminal. I saw a sign for Monical's Pizza, so I pulled over and order a pie. I picked up the pizza and Herb the Manager saw that the order was made wrong. There was miscommunication when I called in. Herb made this whole experience right. He told me that he will cook another pie and its on the house, right before I could ask how we can fix this situation. As I was seeing he was offering me a new pie and making it right, I saw all of his employees smiling towards him and looking up to him prideful. Like as if they are proud to be around Herb. Right at that momment I can tell Herb is a true leader and treats everyone with respect. I can tell that Herb is a guy with full of heart and cares about his customers, his team, and his company. I havnt experince this genuine customer service since the 90's and early 2000. Im from California this type of customer service does not exist anymore. This whole experience gave me nostalgia from early years where customer service was important. We need more people like Herb in this world. That cares about everyone and everything. And plus the pizza was amazing way better then the californian pizza we eat back home. But again this experience I had at Monicals and Herb and his staff will be forever in my memory. This location is WONDERFUL. Having grown up with a Monicals pizza, every time we drive south into Illinois from Wisconsin if there’s a Monicals anywhere close to where we are at we’ll make the trip to it. This Monicals has been the one we’ve typically scouted out over the last few years.

We had to drive to Tennessee a week and a half ago and stopped on our way down. We came back this past Wednesday and stopped on our way back up. The service we have at this location is always top notch. The food reflects the same quality as the service.

The person working (the manager I’m assuming) remembered us from stopping on our way down, and welcomed us back on our way back through. We always try to bring some of the frozen take and bake pizzas back with us, and we had a fairly large order this time around - which she made sure was ready to go by the time we left and kept them in the freezer until we finished eating. To ensure they didn’t get too warm, they were kind enough to wrap them up in tin foil. (We also had insulated bags so they traveled well)

The tin foil was especially helpful, as we got stuck in Chicago during rush hour for several hours, and when we got home the food was still extremely cold.

While Monical’s is always worth a stop if it’s somewhat close, this location specifically always seems to be at the top of their game. Can’t recommend...
