Sammy's Pizza of Manteno — Restaurant in Manteno

If I could give zero stars, I would! My husband and I had an awful experience back in September. The tables were being left dirty with food, etc. on them and flies were EVERYWHERE, swarming our table as well! The service was beyond awful, and the workers were yelling at each other. We talked to the manager, and of course, she did nothing. We decided to try going back there to dine in last night. I had a bad feeling, but really wanted to give it another try. It was a complete disaster. It took 10 minutes for the kid to clean the empty table for us when we arrived. Our waiter was awful! He brought someone else’s food to us, and had no recollection of what we had ordered. It took us one hour to get two salads. The table next to us ordered 3 pizzas AFTER us and got their food before us. When the salads came out, the chicken was so hard and rubbery, you couldn’t even cut it. So we ate our lettuce, chased the kid down, paid, and got out of there! I didn’t even bother talking to the manager because it was the same lady I spoke with in September. This had always been a fantastic restaurant, but it has completely gone down the drain in the past year. It is a prime location, as well. If I could give a zero, I would. Worst service ever! Service is slow to non-existent. Had to go to the bar for plates. Had to steal/ share condiments from other tables. Ordered something to go, took forever. Couldn't even get a refill. Called a young worker walking by, and the kid just kept on walking. And it was obvious our server was running around. Absolutely no help. Asked for a manager several times....never saw one. At register told the manager is at bar....and that's about it. How about acknowledging the customer when they get to the register. Here's a thought, when ya bus a table....take a tub, fill it, wipe the table and move to the next. We stopped here on a Saturday evening shortly after opening so it wasn't too busy. I ordered an avocado chicken sandwich and he ordered the sausage pizza. We had the onion rings as an appetizer. All in all, I thought the rings and the chicken on my sandwich were a tad overcooked, but regardless, everything we had was so tasty!! He really enjoyed his pizza and raved about how much he liked the crust and whatever the sausage that was used. We brought the remainder pizza home to my kid who also seemed to enjoy it as well. Other than the crispy chicken being dry, the sandwich was pretty good. The chipotle mayo had a nice kick to it and the onion rings on the sandwich were much more to my liking than that of the appetizer rings. We still had a good experience and plan to return sometime...
