I have come here multiple times, ordering out, and every single time, the two young men working at night up front would just give me my stuff and walk away. One would just stand there and be oblivious, while the other would go and talk to a waitress. Mind you, we still hadn't paid. They both do not know how to be a host/waiter. I easily could've just walked out every single time and not paid but I'm not like that. Also, last time we went, we had asked if they had Italian hot dogs. Both of the young men said no. I thought that was odd because franks is an Italian restaurant but I just figured they just didn't have it. I went and got a menu and it was right there, they did have them. They don't even know the menu. We decided to go back again tonight. Ordered chicken franchise, an Italian hot dog, and with the side salads, had ordered oil and vinegar on one. On a side not, every time I call, they never ask about what dressing we want on the side, even though they're supposed to. When I went to go pick it up, they had the Italian hot dog in a wrap. A WRAP! I had made them go back and fix it. While we were there, we had ordered garlic knots to go. The young man said it was on the house because they messed up the hot dog. That's understandable. For once, they told us the price and I paid right there. Once I arrived home, I realized the price sounded very low. I come to look at the receipt and they only charged us for the chicken, nothing else. They lost about $15 tonight because the two men don't pay attention. I go to open up the salad, neither of them have any type of dressing. I'm furious at this point. I put it in the fridge because I didn't get what I had asked for so I proceed to open up my chicken and it's cold. I barley ate any of it. Also, the sides, which are supposed to have potatoes and veggies had 1 potato and barley any veggies. I will never be going back there again and you shouldnt either. I had talked to other people who go there and they have also said this has happened to them and they've...
Read moreI am probably the only reviewer here who actually has not gotten food from this place. I called and ordered food to pick up. I ordered a cheesesteak, and the gentleman said "Ok." At other places I am usually asked what I would like on it, or at least what kind of cheese. I asked what my cheese choices were. He said "We use a mix." Huh? What does that even mean. I have never heard such a thing. But fine. I asked for American cheese and he said "all we have is yellow American." Weird again, but I said ok, that's fine, I'd like just cheese on it and fried onions on the side. I prefer fried onions, but my wife does not. Seems pretty simple. He said "No, we can't do that." I asked why and he said "we mix the onions in with the steak." How about you just.. don't do that? We're not talking about brain surgery, here (I did not say this, I was very polite on the phone) It took me a couple of seconds to even process. I explained that literally every other place I go to honors this request happily. It gets even more bizarre from there. He actually said this: "how am I supposed to charge you if they are on the side." WHAT?! Take a second to process that. Use the register, I suppose. Charge me $1 or $1.50 whatever, extra. Absolutely mind- boggling. At this point I was too confused and frustrated to continue with my order and I politely told them I will call someone else. I have had a great experience with the competition down the road but decided maybe I'll try something new, I decided wrong. (For the record- I have worked in countless restaurants, including pizzerias, and onions on the side is not an uncommon request.) Maybe the food is great, but I will never know- due to this unfathomable lack of...
Read moreThis place is very hit-or-miss. It's a favorite of my friend's, so we continue to go. I've had some meals there that were good and others not so much. Pizza and sandwiches are usually good, The dinners need work. Sauces tend to be watery and under-seasoned and the last meal I had there was very salty. Maybe someone complained that their meal was under-seasoned, lol. The chefs tried to blame the ham in the dish but, sorry, the side veggies were very salty, as well. Even if that were the case, they should know that the ham is salty and compensate for it. The servers are very nice, though. UPDATE: I called ahead on a Wednesday to be sure they were still running their half-price pizza special and the guy on the phone said no. I repeated the question to be sure he understood me and he said they were not and hung up. I went there with my friend the following week and the Wednesday half-price pizza special sign was still in the window. Removing one star for this kind of service. SECOND UPDATE: I tried Frank's for takeout this time and ordered two subs - meatball and veal. The veal was totally bizarre. It was so mushy that at first I thought I'd mistakenly started eating the meatball sub that I got for another meal! I opened it up and found just a few pieces of breaded and shredded something that must be what passes for veal in their restaurant. I've never experienced anything like that anywhere else. How does veal turn to mush? The meatball sub was ok but the bread didn't hold up to the sauce and disintegrated on the bottom, allowing the meatball to fall out - a common problem, but still a problem. If I ever go there again, I'm sticking with either their pizza or focaccia sandwiches...
