Leaves much to be desired. This review will be a little long as I believe we need to be transparent as possible to aid this establishment. Reviews are not bash parties but experiences to critique the establishment and alert any future patrons of service and quality. Ordered a few different platters to gauge the flavor profile and consistency of the menu and establishment. Customer service over the phone was superb. Explained the menu and did not rush at all and got a friendly call back stating my food was ready. But when I got there, wait time was oddly longer than I thought it should be since I got a callback saying food was ready. It seemed like a lot was going on. A lot of people moving around and I believe they were painting during the operation. Definitely rubbed me the wrong way but I wasn't going to back out. After the wait, I got what was suppose to be my food only to get all the way home to discover it wasn't my complete order. Called back and was told they have the other part of my order sitting right there. I drove back and got the order which now was now cold. Nothing was offered for the error more than an apology. Now to analyze the food.
Bae Tray - Corn was extremely fresh and tasty. Broccoli as well. Potatoes had a bland tomato based sauce of some sort that didn't really match the platter. Shrimp were salty and super soft. Crab legs were decent but not seasoned. But the absolute worst thing about this platter was the RICE! CRUNCHY and TASTELESS. I couldn't believe it. Butter and Old Bay seasoning on the side.
Loaded Eggrolls with Fries - Even though cold were pretty good. The rolls are steak rolls not over the top but filling but I would have appreciated them warmer. And the twist I guess is the Sweet Chili Sauce on the side. Would be a nice platter if Chili Sauce was authentic.
Twizz Fries - Fried shrimp were decent size and platter well fried but again, would have been special with and authentic sauce as the same Chili Sauce from Eggrolls was used.
Loaded Bae Fries - A decent compilation of fries, shrimp, lump crab meat topped with a sweet cheesy sauce. I received this cold but the taste was still pretty good.
That pretty much wraps it up. I will ALWAYS give new BLACK OWNED establishments a try no matter what I hear about it. I feel they deserve a try just for stepping out on faith to compete with status quo. I was honestly disappointed. I am a big on cooking, a foodie and love trying new food. I found this establishment by way of Instagram and was so excited to try the food and get a feel for the atmosphere but COVID-19 may play a part in the management and service of the restaurant. I define Crabbae as an up and coming establishment with a lot of room to grow. The owner I believe is a charismatic homegrown gentlemen with big dreams and big on faith. I hope this...
Read moreFirst time and my last time. I would give this place zero stars if I could.
I placed my at 6:15p online and it said maximum time 100min for pickup. I arrived around 8pm and my order was not ready. The cashier stated it was coming up and could take payment now. He said someone would call when your order is ready. I paid with credit card. After 30 min later, no phone call and they close at 9pm. At 8:40pm, I went to the store and asked about my order. The cashier goes check and comes back to list everything they don't have for my order. So I requested my money back. After my request, the cashier yells hold off on making that order which I was told was coming up 45 minutes earlier. Then he hands me my refund in cash without the change. I asked where was the change. He said we don't have any. I said that's not my problem especially when I paid with a credit card.
After 3 hours of placing an order of 2 entrees, I got no food, beyond poor customer service, attitude and the business tried to cheat me out of money. This place was actually recommended to me and I don't know why but I will ensure anyone I know knows about the poor businesses practices of this establishment. It only took a phone call to say we are unable to complete before the pickup time or when I arrived, not take customers money and expect to them take what's left. If you don't know how to give refunds, then you should learn. You shouldn't lie to your customers or...
Read moreI had such high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately I was disappointed. The food didn't meet my standards, especially for the price tag. My husband and I had ordered rasta pasta meals, I had shrimp and wings, my husband had shrimp and salmon.
Positives: the food was flavorful... our pasta was properly cooked and had plenty of sauce... the shrimp was cooked correctly
Cons: for the price the portions was small, both of our meals was not as described online (I was missing a wing, which was substituted for one extra shrimp, my husband's was missing two shrimps). There was way too much cayenne pepper it took over any other possible flavors, my chicken had no jerk flavor at all, the wings was the same size of the medium shrimp, I expected the rasta pasta to have colorful peppers in it but it was just pasta, and lastly the pasta had no parmesan cheese.(my expectation from looking at the Instagram page maybe your supposed to ask for it?)
I would encourage other people to try the food, my expectation on seafood based off how I cook and places I normally eat at, may not be yours. The food was not bad it just was disappointing and over priced for the portions to me... I wish the owner luck moving forward, his Instagram page definitely did its job of...
