Learn moreI want to start out by saying I have been a huge fan of Burdines for years. So much so, that we bragged and brought our out of town friends today for lunch. What took place was so bizarre, that we are still trying to figure out what happened. We were seated immediately and when our waitress came over, we asked if we could have 2 checks to split our bills. Her words exactly were โ You are not going to do this to me right?โ It was a bit uncomfortable, but we were like okโฆ..she took our drink order and I asked for a lime in my ginger ale. When she returned with our drinks, no lime. When she came to our table to get our food order, my boyfriend asked if she could bring the lime for my drink. Hereโs where things went off the rails. She rolls her eyes and rudely said โGo ahead with your orderโ My boyfriend said โA little less of an attitude pleaseโ She slams the wooden bill they use for gathering the check and says โ I am getting you another server โ Our friends immediately got up and said they no longer felt comfortable eating there. She sent over another server who I told that we were leaving and could I please have the bill, so I could at least pay for the drinks. He goes โ You can definitely leaveโ Besides being so caught off guard by her being so nasty, it was embarrassing. Weโre not at all rude people and being locals, Iโve sent people to this place countless times. I hate leaving bad reviews despite what this one reads as, but she was clearly in a bad mood before she got to us. This was...

I tend to try Philly Cheesesteak at new places to get a good comparison, but their take on the Philly was called a Three Cheese Keys Steak Sandwich. I should have gauged from the description that this was too far gone to compare with a Philly. Thinly sliced ribeye, grilled garlic and onions, 3 types of melted cheese, topped with baby greens and tomato, along with garlic Mayo, on a toasted ciabatta bun. I had them leave off the greens and tomato. The meat and bread was good, but the amount of cheese, garlic and onions overwhelmed the meat. All in all, way too much cheese and garlic, and I never thought that was possible for most any dish. My wife had the fried shrimp, looked to be about 6 decent sized, but nothing special. The hushpuppies were very good. We also ordered an appetizer of hand-cut French Fries and they were awesome, probably enough for 4 people. They don't have sweet tea, and the coke products are canned drinks with a plastic cup and no straw. I probably should have opted for a burger, as I'm pretty sure that would have been much better than their designer cheesesteak, that's on me though. I also thought for the prices, the fries should have come with the sandwich and shrimp patter. I'll still say it eked...

We got there and had to wait about 10-15 mins for a table , which was a breeze because the restaurant is elevated and the views of the water were BEAUTIFUL. Itโs worth coming for that alone. We were sat and our waiter immediately came over to ask what we wanted for beverages. The food is amazing , we got poke ( which was one of the best Iโve had), I got the burger and my Mom got the three keys cheese steak ( which is a sandwich). All was yummy. I also want to say a huge THANK YOU to our waiter ( Iโm horrible with names , so sorry) for giving us a heads up on driving safe and driving the exact speed limit because we saw so many people stopped by the cops. Not one to speed , but the fact that he was looking out and wished us a safe journey was appreciated! Overall amazing experience , have recommended in my socials and will come back when Iโm back in the Keys. I will say though , the host ( the younger guy) needs to be a little more enthusiastic? He offered bar (there was two of us) and when we declined and said weโd wait for a table he didnโt look pleased. He was very monotone upon our arrival. Considering the host is literally the first touchpoint between the customer and the establishment and sets the tone for the experience, I would say there should be a little more attention on...
