I'm visiting a friend who knows I have never had an opportunity to kayak, as well as love plants and wildlife. She was recommended a SpongeBob tour and it turned into the best little adventure for us both. * note - spray the living bejesus out of yourself with bugspray, the mosquitoes in the mangroves are no joke* We learned a little about the history of the area, a lot about how mangroves grow and develop, including the growth of the mangrove island as a whole. With a quick wit, and friendly patience, all my questions were answered and my first timer learning curve on the kayak was never an issue. We had fun, learned a lot, and had a great time. Based on the tide, we met at 1pm (when you schedule, he will confirm the optimal time for your day). Learning I was not a local, and my big hope was to see manatees while visiting, after the tour he asked if we wanted to head over to a spot they might be midday for fresh water. (Normal grazing time in the mangroves is night/early morning). Of course I was thrilled to see a mama and baby. I'd absolutely recommend this tour to adults or families.
