Chose this spot based on all the good reviews and it was a major let down. The waitress introduced herself by saying "how can I help you?" Umm...we just showed up to a restaurant, usually that means we'd like a table for dinner. Her tone was snarky. She advised us they were full for reservations that evening but we could wait for the outdoor tables as those were first come first serve. Opted for that. We waited maybe 15 minutes, so not bad at all. Waited another 10 minutes or so for the table to get cleaned off and then we ordered - spaghetti and meatballs, chicken broccoli ziti Alfredo, and fried mozzarella appetizer. The mozzarella sticks were plain, and over cooked. The sauce accompanying them was super bland...no seasoning. Just crushed tomatoes basically. The pasta came out and looked decent at first glance. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs had about 2 cups worth of sauce too much. The meatballs were incredibly dense and didn't taste homemade. The sauce was also a bit sweet. $25 for that dish. My Alfredo taste was decent but there was broccoli stems in it so I assume that was a steamer bag of broccoli and the chicken was the texture and taste of the microwave ready chicken you get from Costco. I also ordered ziti and got penne noodles and it came out so hot that I couldn't eat it without burning my tongue for at least 7-10mins. So while the Alfredo sauce was tasty, the other subpar ingredients made the $28 price of the dish appalling. The complimentary bread came out warm which was nice. We opted for the lobster bisque and the pasta fagioli soups with our meals. Neither tasted good and the waitress said "you didn't even touch them." The customer service was lacking. With sitting outside, we had live music - older guy playing a saxophone which was pleasant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Basic dishes didn't come close to living up to the price.

Franks Grill has been a dinnertime favorite of ours for several years with fantastic Italian food that satisfies the appetite of the most discerning foodies such as my wife and I both from Italian ancestry. My veal parmigiana as well as my wife's penne with sun dryed tomatoes, broccoli and shrimp were scrumptious, but for Frank's, simply par for the course. Add to that the most delicious, made in house, Tuscan style bread loaves with fresh roasted garlic cloves pared with the perfect glass of Merlot wine and you have a true Italian feast. While the dinning atmosphere at Frank's is decidedly crowded there's an intimacy of a happy ambient vib that makes up for any table tightness. With that you begin to see how this little place in a little inconspicuous strip mall is so worthy of this and other fine reviews. Having said that I had to take a star away because we were virtually ignored at our 7:00 dinner reservation for 30 minutes after being seated as waitresses walked all around empty tables and us. Our minds were being blown and we were ready to get up and leave when a lovely young lady named Mirranda appeared and apologized for the oversight. I must say she was very courteous and displayed a certain and appreciated grace under pressure that seemed beyond her engaging youthfulness. I hope Frank's realizes what a fine employee she is and we wish her all the best. Please note that it is because of Mirranda that we will return to Frank's for another great meal. Before I forget I wish to thank the busboy that night whose care toward us did not go un-noticed. Another fine Frank's employee.

This place is top notch. Strange hours and definitely an elderly crowd, but this might be some of the best Fettuccine Alfredo I’ve ever had. The service seemed nice, I got take out but while they seemed super busy they still were extremely friendly and nice. It feels more authentic with Frank (the owner) being there for some reason. The place is a little small so you might struggle to get a table right away but I got takeout so it’s hard to comment on that. I will say the servers packed up our to go order very nicely, it was all in a cardboard box with individual cups of garlic and oil for the bread, Parmesan, and butter. Onto the food, the picture shows what the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo looked like when I opened it. The food was scorching hot and smelled heavenly. Alfredo was decently garlic which is a great plus for me and any other garlic lovers. The sauce was a great consistency, not too watery but not too thick. Chicken was grilled and juicy in the mix. I wish I could go into even more detail but I recommend you come here and try it for yourself. As much as I want to keep this as a “friends and family secret” because it’s so great, I highly recommend you come and try this place if you are in Marathon and want pasta.

Just had to share our dinner experience. We are staying in town for two weeks and trying different places. For the most part, everything has been amazing with good food and atmosphere until tonight! We heard Frank’s Grill was the place to go for good Italian. My husband called on Monday and wanted to go that night. We were told they were booked so he asked for Tuesday, Wednesday and finally they found a slot for us tonight, Thursday. He gave our name and number and booked it. We were so excited to try it! Took a local taxi and arrived about 20 minutes early so my hubby went inside while I waited. Came back a few minutes later and told me to come inside. The manager, maybe Frank? was flipping saying you have no reservation, when did you call, can’t find it and will squeeze you in since you say you made a reservation. He made a scene and embarrassed my husband. My husband then looked at the book and said there it is and it had one number wrong and the wrong name written down. Instead of apologizing , he storms through the restaurant and seats us at our table. Let me tell you, we sat there and he never acknowledged us again. He acted sweet as pie to other people by serving them while we sat there, but wouldn’t give us the time of day. He also reprimanded one of his workers out loud while we were there and she was in tears! His attitude sickened us. We are business owners and especially in this day and age, you don’t do that to your employees. The food was good, but not like he thinks it is. When we went to walk out, I said, “I think we deserve an apology.” He acted like I had two heads and said, “what?” There were people in there in bathing suits, etc. and we were dressed in nice attire. We are not locals but love to support local businesses while on vacation. I am not the kind of person who bad mouths places, but someone needs to wake this guy up and change his attitude!! What an experience 🤦🏻‍♀️! Life is too short and we all have learned that the last two years! We all have bad days but people like that don’t deserve a...

I've eaten at Frank's twice prior to our most recent 2/22/18 dining experience. On both of those occasions it was ok. However, this last experience for my wife's birthday will never have us stepping inside this place again. We had a reservation for 4 at 6:30. It was busy and were seated at 6:50. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts. We dined for about 1:40 minutes, then after, and I repeat after, I paid the bill of $200 including 20% tip, as we were getting up, the maître de/ assistant manager named "Joe" told us it was "about time" and admonished us for dining for so long as other people were waiting for our table! Excuse me Joe, but after eating at restaurants for more than 50 years I have never, ever, been verbally assaulted for occupying a table for a certain amount of time. Totally inexcusable. Let me also say this. I'm 100% Italian and eaten the best Italian cuisine in Italy and from my families kitchen and Frank's is at best a C+. I sent back my veal marsala because it was so greasy, they took it off the bill. The marinara was so overseasoned with oregano it was awful and unfortunately the chefs feel as though unless you're fed tons of garlic on everything, it's not perceived as Italian cooking. Hey look, the place is not a complete disaster, the steamers are great, but if they didn't have a captive audience in the Keys, they wouldn't be around much longer. Hey Frank, you need to give Joe a talking to or see him out the door. His attitude is horrible, that is, unless you don't really care and are just taking advantage of being the only "Italian" restaurant...
