Two words, Flavor Town. My family and I came here to dine after looking at different reviews of other seafood places. We chose this place in particular because unlike other restaurants around the area, this seemed like a place with authentic and great seafood. Overall, just looked better than the other options we had. I’m not one to leave reviews on many places, but this was one place I just had to leave. When we arrived with a party of 6, we were told we had to wait 30 minutes. Because we were a big party, Covid still being very prominent in Texas, and their shortage on help, it was understandable that we had to wait 30 minutes. So to spare some time we went to a store and came back because we received a message that we would be seated in 10 minutes. When we had arrived back at the restaurant it took around another 20 minutes for us to finally be seated. I will say, it was a bit annoying for us to wait almost an hour to be seated, but when we were finally inside and seated we couldn’t wait to eat. When we had ordered we weren’t expecting much, just to have a nice seafood meal. But it was much more than that. Dad ordered the Shrimp and Grits which came out first before his actual entre. He was sharing it with my brother, and I wasn’t paying much attention to their reaction to it because I personally don’t like grits. But I heard my dad sigh in a good way and he leaned back in his chair, shocked with the outcome. “Wow. That has to be the best grits I have ever had.” Curious, I reached in for a bite and my gosh, it was so good. The grits were perfectly seasoned with butter and the sauce that the shrimp were seasoned with. It almost tasted like rice. Not to mention the shrimp was just very tasty. From that alone, I was eager and anticipating my dinner plate, which was the Jambalaya Rice. When it came it had an assortment of different things, but it came with rice, chicken, shrimp, sausage, and jambalaya sauce. Not to mention there were two garlic breads and green beans as the side. When I tried the first bite, it was out of this world. The jambalaya sauce was so amazing, it fit so well with the rice and the meats. It was freshly hot as well which made the entire dish better. Words can’t explain how amazing tasty my dish was. My family was also so so pleased with their meals, we went home full and happy because of how amazing the food was. My baby sister had salmon, and she doesn’t even like fish! That’s how amazing the food was. 10/10 recommend this place if you want amazing New Orleans styled food and very friendly staff members. The experience was overall amazing and if I had lived in this town I would go here every single day just to try every dish. Please support them by coming to this...

I've had Cajun cuisine in LA as well as been to friends boils out there. I really wanted this place to be "it" and I'd stomach the nearly 2hr drive here. But it must just be all they can get in this area hence the very high reviews or they have developed a lot of personal relationships with locals. I won't say it is a Bad place to eat, but I certainly won't go back.
The staff I dealt with were great. There was a serious problem with the order that was rectified quickly without push back, unfortunately the food its-self drags the review down.
Ordered a seafood appetizer, it came out not fully cooked (Cold and translucent inside, not cool) and in this case it is has to be fully cooked. Only discovered while ingesting some with no time to expel it. The issue was handled quickly w/o pushback but it instead of a re-fire with new product the kitchen staff some how cooked it additionally w/o heating the plate indicating they removed it and reused the same presentation dish. I'm happy to report I did not get food poisoning but that is a cross-contamination issue. The appetizer was not eaten after the initial bite.
Shrimp and Grits was more like Shrimp Fajitas sauteed in butter served over grainy/dry grits. Grits were shameful, not creamy at all. Had a wet look but when you spooned them it was more the consistency of chunks of cornbread. All of the vegetables were long strips. Like fat julienne cut. Not diced for easy spoon eating. Number and flavor of shrimp was adequate. Sauce was non-existent. It was just butter or butter flavored oil more likely and not much at that. But I didn't want any more of it.
Fried Okra side was exactly like you can get from major chains like Bush's Chicken, etc. You can tell it 100% was a mass produced bulk frozen product that was just deep fried. I don't expect a restaurant to walk out back and pluck fresh ones for me but when there is all the pomp around "real new orleans style" I would imagine they'd be at-least made in-house or a rustic style offering.
Paid, left a good tip for the service only, not...
Read moreStopped by after looking for popular local restaurants in Marble Falls and this Cajun restaurant kept popping up. Walked in and was immediately greeted and seated as there was not a wait. Took a few minutes for the waitress to come over for the drinks, but gave me time to go over all the menu options. Once the waitress came over, she took the drinks and appetizer order while I debated on the meal order.
For the appetizer, had a small cup of gumbo as that's a staple item for a Cajun restaurant and often my measure how authentic the restaurant is. The gumbo was a great start to the meal as it tasted amazing. The soup was very flavorful alone, but the large amount of shrimp, sausage, rice, and vegetables definitely added another dimension. For the meals, ordered the Oyster Poboy with onion rings and the Dinner Pont.
The Dinner Pont was a perfect way to taste a little bit of everything. It came with a catfish filet, red beans & rice, sausage, bread, and bread pudding (but they forgot to bring it out). My favorite was the fried catfish filet as it was perfectly crisped and not greasy. The filet was also a nice thick portion so you actually tasted the fish and not just the breading. The red beans & rice were just as good as the catfish. The oyster poboy was extremely good. I was surprised at the generous amount of oysters inside the sandwich. There were oysters falling out everywhere. The oysters were very thick and flavorful. Not just the oysters, but the bread was very soft and tasted homemade (not sure if actually was). The crispy of the oysters with the softness of the bread was a nice combination.
I wish I was in Marble Falls longer to come back to try the other menu items. I will definitely come back to try more items as this was a great...
