KJ Sushi And Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Marco Island

I wish I took a picture of my dish. I’ve been using Mongolian beef as my judge for Chinese restaurants for decades. Easily eaten it thousands of times at hundreds of restaurants. The Mongolian Beef at KJ was in the top three I’ve ever had. That includes some very high end places in every big city. To find a gem like this in a corner on Marco Island was a wonderful discovery. I’ll be coming back every time I visit the island. The dish was spicy. I asked for as spicy as they make, nothing gets to me anymore, and this was right on the edge of the hottest food I’ve been served in any of the restaurants. The flavors were excellent and the ingredients were top notch.

We also had a few sushi rolls, all fantastic, and the krab rangoons were the best I’ve had in years. You can tell they really care, I made a mistake reading the menu and they fixed it up right away. (On that note order the big giant roll without deep fry and it’s amazing, I just don’t like hot rolls).

I think the owner was the one who took care of that for me and I meant to thank him in person and let him know how amazing that Mongolian beef was, but I didn’t get a chance. Hope you read this review! I can’t...

We always eat here whenever we are in the area, but our most recent visit with a party of five (four adults and one child) was notable for the automatic 20% gratuity fee that was added to our bill, as we were deemed a "large party" (just last July 2024 we also ate here and this is wasn't a case yet so this is for sure a new thing.. Did they change management AGAIN?). However, we were still presented with the option to provide an additional customized tip, which seemed unnecessary given the already included automatic gratuity. It is worth noting that, in our experience, a party of five is not typically considered large, as many restaurants only apply automatic gratuity for parties of six or more. Furthermore, we believe it is essential for restaurants to clearly communicate their automatic gratuity policy before patrons place their orders, rather than surprising them with an unexpected fee. Finally, we think it is reasonable to expect that restaurants will not solicit additional tips when automatic gratuity is already applied, instead allowing patrons to decide whether to provide additional compensation. If I could give them a zero, I would they are so disorganized. They kept me on hold trying to decide if they would deliver to my house in Key Marco, which is on Marco Island, which they have done for years under Sue at Sue’s garden. They stated after me waiting on hold listening to them go back and forth that they do not deliver to this area any longer because it is 14 minutes away from the restaurant they only deliver to areas right beside the restaurant because they have one server who runs around plus does the deliveries I will not ever order deliveries from this company ever again and I’ve ordered from them since 1986. I am more than annoyed and then they asked me if I wanted to come in and pick it up after and making me wait on hold talking to a manager and could not figure out that I was on the island they just do not have the staff I won’t go back there I would give them zero...
