My husband and I had the most amazing experience here. The service was incredible. They are newly opened so we were surprised by how attentive and helpful the staff was. We got to meet Ahmed, one of the business owners, Yasin the other business partner and chef, and our wonderful waiter Marius. There were other employees who came over to us but I didn’t catch all the names.
The dishes are family style so that they can be shared. Yasin explained that he was sharing a part of his Turkish culture, where instead of each person just focusing on their own meal, everyone shares and interacts by sharing the various dishes. We have eaten family style before but it was more meaningful to have the chef explain why he prefers his diners to eat that way.
We ordered multiple dishes to enjoy there and to take back to our hotel. The Freekeh Tabouleh Salad was quite different than the Lebanese style we are used to, with the chopped parsley and mint mixed into the bulgur. This salad was creamier, more subtle with the greens piled on top. It was very good and my husband preferred it to the Lebanese version.
The Humus Falafel Bowl was fantastic! This restaurant is a Mediterranean-fusion style so they take the various dishes and add their own twist to them. The pomegranate tahina dressing was such a unique flavor.
The Roots Cold Plate was my favorite. The celery root, carrots and pearl onions were tender but not mushy. And the herb emulsion sauce had shallot in it, which is much subtler than onion and was amazing.
The Manti, Turkish dumplings that the chef said were sort of like gyoza, were delicious. All of the flavors melded together and the paprika oil added depth to the dish.
The Pistachio Baklava was wonderful. We have mainly eaten it in Greek restaurants. This version wasn’t as sticky or syrupy. It tasted lighter and the filo dough was flakier and not as congealed. The ground pistachio was new to us and it really added to the overall flavor.
We sipped Turkish coffee and were told because of the way it is prepared, and how it is brewed, it is highly caffeinated. I am not much of a coffee drinker but my husband is. Even he thought it was much stronger than a normal espresso you might get at the local coffee shop, so drink at your own risk.
We hope to come back to Marco Island and we will definitely make Cafe Marquise one of our...
Read moreCafe Marquise in Marco Island offers a refined and contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean cuisine with remarkable attention to detail. The atmosphere is bright, airy, and genuinely appetite-stimulating — a perfect setting for a memorable evening. We started our dinner with a beautifully prepared amuse bouche.
Every dish we tried was executed with precision and balance. The “Roots” (olive oil braised celery root) was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted in the U.S. — delicate, flavorful, and unique. “Carrot Tarator,” “Branzino Marine,” “Tabbouleh,” and “Okra with Olive Oil” created a perfectly balanced start to the meal. The following “Manti” and “Kofte” courses were equally impressive, both in flavor and presentation.
Chef Yasin Köprübaşı has crafted a menu that captures the essence of Mediterranean simplicity through modern culinary techniques. Each plate reflects precision, harmony, and creativity. The service team was friendly, attentive, and exceptionally knowledgeable about both the menu and wine pairings. At the end of the meal, we were offered a complimentary Porto wine, an elegant gesture that added a refined finishing touch to the evening.
For dessert, we enjoyed “Chocolate Baklava,” “Cold Baklava,” and “Pistachio Kadaif” — all perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture. The evening concluded with a beautifully brewed Turkish Coffee, bringing a smooth and authentic closure to the experience. Cafe Marquise truly embodies fine dining in Marco Island — from its cuisine to its service and atmosphere, everything reflects excellence. Highly...
Read moreAbsolutely outstanding dining experience! From start to finish, everything was flawless — the atmosphere, the presentation, and especially the flavors. You can tell that Chef Yasin Köprubaşı puts his heart into every plate.
The Freekeh Tabouleh Salad was fresh, balanced, and full of life. The Humus Falafel Bowl had a perfect tahini dressing that was creamy yet light. Among the hot plates, the Manti and Turkish Style Shrimp Casserole were both showstoppers — authentic, elegant, and beautifully executed.
Even the small details impressed me — the pomegranate molasses in the Greek Gem Salad, the slow-roasted beetroots with yoghurt, and that perfect final touch of the Baklava, layered with delicate texture and rich flavor.
It’s rare to find a place that blends Mediterranean soul with modern finesse this seamlessly. You don’t just eat here — you feel the cuisine. Definitely a must-visit and a spot I’ll keep...
