Ventura's Greenhouse Restaurant — Restaurant in Margate City

The menu is ridiculously expensive for what you get. When you order a sandwich that's all you get, no fries or anything on the side. Drinks are served in 8 ounce clear plastic cups and only plastic cutlery is used. I went there yesterday with my mother who was visiting from Burlington county, it was supposed to be a treat for her, have a nice lunch on the beach on a nice day. Even though we were the only people there the service was terrible, we never got our drinks refilled, were not impressed by the food at all and since we sat on the beach deck it was cash only which we were told when we tried to pay instead of at the beginning of the meal which caused major stress since neither of us had cash on us. Then we tried to use their beat up ATM on the deck that said my mother's card was declined and the server suggested we use the ATM downstairs cause that one was "tricky", which we did and it charged us $3.50 on top of the bank charge. What I don't understand is why the server couldn't just use the register inside which we passed to get to the ATM to finalize our bill instead of making us do all this ridiculousness and end up having to pay an extra $7 in card charges for using the ATM. Needless to say neither I or anyone I know will ever go there again and I don't suggest anyone else go there either. There are a lot of better restaurants...

Normally we have a nice time there. Yes they are on the pricey side. Tonight was different. We went there close to 5pm on October 15, 2025. We had a $50 gift card. We each ordered 2 drinks from a waitress that was going off duty soon. That was okay. Paid cash bill was $38.00. Gave her a $5 tip. Then we ordered a large pizza. My hubby bought me $ 50.00 gift card for my birthday on September 30th. He paid cash. He received the card..we both have one more drink until the pizza arrives. Give the waitress the gift card to pay the bill. She says the computer doesn't except it. We tell her it's legit. She goes upstairs where they tell her it's good. Next she tells us we have to pay the bill and they will give us a new gift card. Of course being my Italian self, flip out. To make a long story short, I am a generous tipper. I won't be going back to the GH any time soon. Nor will I be buying anyone a gift card from them. I have NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED IN MY LIFE! THE Watrisses on duty tonight that waited on my husband and my self were rude and obnoxious, not to mention...

Just a terrible experience here the waitress never even cracked a smile half the stuff in the menu was not available even though this is called the Seaford House no Seafood was available for the day. Unfortunately even the entertainment was pretty sub-par. And I said no muscle we watched some tables received muscles and some of the seafood and other tables were told that it's not available which made no sense.

Everything was over fried and overcooked and the only thing we we're able to eat was chicken fingers french fries pizza and Stromboli which I would say we're about middle of the pack rating.

On top of that at the end of it all we are told that this is a cash only place even though the inside accepts credit cards I hear something and we're told that there's an ATM right there in the corner which you can use if you don't have cash.

None of this was told to us at the entrance by The Host at the time of entry.

I would not recommend this place unless you want to take a Shot in the Dark and hope you end up on the side of those who left a good...
