Jace’s Place — Restaurant in Margate City

Ordered a mixed vegetable salad, the baseline salad, and their balsamic dressing was decent, but have told them that I was a vegetarian salad that had a bold egg cut and put it aside along with it. When I tried to order fries I was told that the sauce that comes along with it has butter in it, and as such best not to order the same, the gentleman taking the order had assumed that I was vegan and possibly did not know the difference between someone vegetarian and vegan and subsequently when having been give the bread as a side with salad 2 small packs of butter was included with it. Having sat there expecting to eat, instead, my salad was packed to go, was told that they had assumed that I might have to head back to work, but then again one does need time to eat even if they are to head to work. Again, it would be nice if they paid attention to details taking orders and understood furthermore to what the customer requirements were. I would give them 3.5 stars at best overall. (Response to the response by the resturant - So you are suggesting that the person whom you suggest not serving the sauce to because it has butter in it, expecting him/her to be OK with eggs, and then on the top you are suggesting that you suggested 5 times, to stay put and eat there, NO you suggested once that you are welcome to sit and eat there post the salad having been packed, but the assumption you had made was that because I had to go to work you would rather pack it when the fact of the matter is that when one goes to work even there they have to open up the food and eat the same. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! I went here in a party of three on what I believe was a summer Thursday night. I walked in and went to the counter to check out a paper menu. After deciding on the spaghetti and meatballs, I ordered. After I paid, the other people in the party went up to order wings. They had a question on the description and asked the cashier. They were still making a decision and there was no one else in line, but the chef behind the cashier felt the need to scold them for taking their time. Feeling pressured, they quickly ordered. If I had not already paid, I would get up and walk out. It’s truly unacceptable. How can you run a restaurant where you are rude to the customer? The chef must have been new or having a bad day because if he treats everyone like that, the restaurant would get no business. The food we received was nasty, but it did come out quite quickly. We just ordered from Jonuzi’s, it’s the first time in awhile. We used to order here on a regular basis. My husband paid by credit card, he handed his card to the girl behind the counter and wasn’t given a receipt to sign. When he got home the charge popped up on his phone different then the receipt given to him. They charged two dollars more than the receipt. When he called to question it the owner was rude and said they charge for using a credit card. There is not a sign in the restaurant or on the website stating that.
