Dandee Donut Factory — Restaurant in Margate

Wish I could give 0 stars. The rudest, most inconsiderate people working there except for the guy cleaning tables.This is the first time my mom and I were going to try this place being that I heard pretty good things about it. Very busy little place, young man cleaned off the table then waited quite a while for the waitress to approach. We ordered two coffees and asked her to return in a few minutes so we can check out the menu. In the meantime she never brought the coffee the young man did, we were ready to order she was at the booth behind us, I tried to get her attention she walked in the other direction then she approached the table next to us taking their order. Again I tried to get her attention and she replied in a VERY nasty tone "can't you see I'm busy" and again walked in the other direction, then I said "we also asked you for coffee that you never brought". Some guy came from behind the counter saying he will not tolerate anybody speaking to his help like that and told us we could leave. (how about his "help" speaking to customers they way she spoke to us)? We still sat for a few minutes he approached the table I did apologize and he said we are no longer welcome there don't ever come back. Whatever happened to customer service, whatever happened to the customer is always right? Maybe they're due for a health inspection, you just never know who's sitting in your place of business. We went to another restaurant, though very busy as well the waitress was wonderful, friendly and definitely did not speak to us the way this other chick did at dandee donuts. Updated 06/10/2023, first time back to the restaurant. We decided to get breakfast sandwiches to go and a dozen donuts. The first was a dandee breakfast sandwich. This is egg, bacon,sausage cheese on a cake donut. This was tasty, not too greasy and was filling. The 2nd is a croissant with egg and cheese. This wasn't so tasty. The croissant was hard and chewy, none of the buttery flavor you would expect. The donuts were all tasty although they had no cruller or Apple fritte. The Snickers and Boston cream were delicious. I still recommend visiting for breakfast Original review. Best donuts in or around Margate Florida hands down. Made fresh daily they offer some really tasty flavors. The Boston cream and strawberry are by far the tastiest 🥰. The establishment was clean, well staffed and everyone was very polite. I opted for a sausage egg & cheese on a biscuit and a coffee. The sandwich was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The egg had the nice browned edges and a perfectly cooked yoke, the sausage had a nice flavor, not to spicy but with just enough seasoning to make it stand out. The fresh made biscuit was perfect, it had a nice moisture to crunch ratio. I expected a Bisquick type biscuit but this was sooo much better. You can't go wrong here. Everything is delicious! 05/12. So, today was my first time visiting this restaurant. I decided to dine in. I immediately informed the waitress, Pamela A. (tattooed lady with glasses) that it was my first time there, as she could've probably inferred anyhow due to all my questions.

Once I was served by a cook, I wasn't checked on afterwards, but others around me were. I am someone who deals with social anxiety as well and don't easily speak up. I was not satisfied whatsoever with the hash brown. It seemed old and very dry by the looks of it.

After taking a few bites of my other food and growing the courage to mention it, I was immediately denied by Pamela for my request to switch out my side, the hashbrown for something different. She did not even attempt to empathize, question what's wrong with it or even ask management for an exception. I wasn't in the mood to further escalate things over a hash brown.

I'm writing this review because I honestly try to steer away from pulling any race cards, but her quick response with her lack of empathy persuades me otherwise. In the future, I think the situation could be handled with better care. I work in customer service and that is not at all how I would've resolved the issue.

To begin with, she knew it was my first time there since I shared that information with her, so she could have shown me some grace.
