Always great service! excellent pizza! 12/7/24 My neighbor good old Italian fella from New York told me at the best pizza around was Johnny pies. I tried it and he was right I used to go to La pizzeria religiously for 4 years eating in with my family taking out picking up pizza etc. I always tip 25 30%, no one ever said thanks but I still like the place I don't like the pizza but when I discovered Johnny pies it was game over excellent pizza excellent food great staff everybody knows my name I walk in and like hey Don what's up buddy they coming to my house a little before they come inside my house and hang out. The few times I was too lazy to drive over there and went back to the pizzeria standing in the front 10 minutes 15 minutes looking around lunch time no one to take my order waitresses and people walking by that have known me for 4 years didn't even acknowledge me. went back two weeks later got a pizza didn't seem as good I don't know the cheese is different or maybe they're mixing it with something I don't know. last night I noticed Johnny pie's closes at 10:00 The pizza is closes at 10:30 so I call up about 10:05 maybe 10:07 say can you make me 12 in cheese pie I'll come pick it up in 10 minutes no we're closed. so I decided to go to the steakhouse over there but walked in the pizzeria first The door was open people were still in there it was 10:20 it was 10:27 by the time a bus boy came out I said you guys close yeah we're closed really What the hell is the Sun on the door mean. I've been a chef for 35 years in restaurants and hotels if someone walked in one minute before closing they could sit down have a meal and sit there for two freaking hours if they wanted. My request for 12-in pizza which would be done in 10 minutes before closing should not have been a problem. by the way I've also gone to Johnny pies at 5 minutes to 10:00 and they would still make me a pizza now thats service. I'll never go back again I probably spent about $5,000 in that place I guess you guys are rich you don't give a s* although the place is never full. very disappointing Man for the first 4 years I left here I used to rave about that place I told everybody...
Read moreI had a sausage and pepper parmesan sub to compare to one I have at another restaurant. A very big difference. This one was smaller in every way at the same price, bread, sausage and cheese but surprisingly lots of peppers. They are cheaper. Update : will not go back here. Update 08-20-2022 we went here for dinner tonight at about 8:30 and the place was rather empty. We were told to sit where we wanted. The first thing I saw was a paper stapled to each menu stating that the prices on some items have gone up $1.00 note, they printed a new menu about a year with price increase. I do understand the rising prices but, they did not state which dishes whent up, the waitress stated she didn't know which dishes went up and said the cook let's her know when she writes up the check. I told her I need to know first if what I am ordering went up. I order the fettuccine Alfredo and chicken on the side and my wife ordered the 3 muscatiers, the waitress came back and said all 3 went up $1 each, mine went up $2 because the chicken was a side to the main dish. Here' s the thing they seem to be using this excuse to raise the prices without making them and this makes this think this is legal. This is a form of price gouging. They do not tell you the price till you get your check. I have been to many restaurants that put a sticker over the old price. Updated 01/23/23 The note on the menu stating items may be more is gone, no new menu and no price increase. They add small chopped up potatoes to most dishes to stretch them. They don't add them them if you tell them not to. Several new waiters and bus boys as it seems the old ones left. I still try not to go here but my wife likes this place. Update 05/14/23 Well it's Mother's Day and as I had sail several times my wife likes this place. She reserved the back room cause we were a party of 15. The food was good, BUT my wife found Green Mold in the sprinkle cheese shaker on the table. I was glad she found it cause she likes this place, Not Me. She is now considering Not Coming Back. THIS WAS NOT A SPECK OF MOLD BUT A...

Went Friday for a fairly early dinner, they were getting busy, but certainly not slammed. Ordered a glass of wine. Finished it and watched our waiter, Dane I think, walk right past our table 5 times, apparently ignoring my attempts to get his attention for a refill. My husband's soda also got emptied during that time. Finally, the bus man stopped and asked my husband if he wanted a refill, but not me, and about that time Dane also stopped at the table next to ours. This would be the sixth time passing by now. I ended up having to raise my voice quite loudly to get attention for a refill.
Then our food came. I nearly always get their shrimp scampi and ask for a little extra garlic (they roast, then slice it) and some lemon on the side for me to squeeze on the dish. Those 2 little tweaks always made it nearly perfect for me. Well, the shrimp were really overcooked and there was just some kind of off taste about the pasta, not bad, just not as tasty as it always had been.
My husband got lasagna, which he has also enjoyed in the past. The noodles weren't cooked enough even inside the lasagna. They were very chewy, much more than "to the tooth" and the outside noodles that had been exposed to direct heat were harder than direct from the box.
