🛒❤️ Winn-Dixie Will Always Be My #1 – Better Than the Rest! ❤️🛒
When it comes to convenience stores and grocery chains, nothing compares to Winn-Dixie. I’ve been shopping there for years, and every single time I walk through those doors, it’s more than just a grocery run — it’s a comforting, familiar experience that brings back so many good memories.
Out of all the stores I’ve visited over the years, Winn-Dixie truly stands out in every way. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a clean, well-organized store and a warm, friendly atmosphere. But the real gems? Their meat, deli, and seafood sections — they are absolutely unmatched!
Let’s start with the meat department. The quality is top-tier. Whether I’m buying steaks, chicken, ribs, or ground beef, I know I’m getting fresh, high-quality cuts every single time. It’s not that pre-packaged stuff you find elsewhere — it’s butcher-quality meat that you can actually feel good about cooking and serving to your family.
Then there’s the deli section — easily one of my favorite parts of the store. Their sliced meats, cheeses, fresh sides, rotisserie chickens, and ready-to-eat meals are always on point. Perfect for a quick lunch or an easy dinner after a long day. And everything is served up with a smile. You can tell the people behind the counter care about their work — and their customers.
And don’t even get me started on the fish and seafood section! It’s clean, fresh, and well-stocked. I’ve found everything from salmon and shrimp to fresh-caught local favorites — and it’s always fresh, never fishy-smelling like some other stores. They clearly take pride in the freshness and selection they offer.
The staff at Winn-Dixie also deserves serious credit. Everyone from the cashiers to the stock clerks to the folks behind the counter is always friendly, helpful, and professional. You can tell they take pride in their store and truly value the customers who walk through the door.
What keeps me coming back though, beyond the great food and the great people, is that Winn-Dixie reminds me of the good times. It’s where my family used to shop when I was growing up. It’s where I learned how to pick out the best produce with my parents, where I got my favorite treats after school, and where holiday shopping always felt a little more special. That sense of tradition and comfort is priceless.
In a world full of big chains and rushed shopping trips, Winn-Dixie still feels like home. It’s reliable, familiar, and always delivers quality. And for that reason, it’s more than just a store to me — it’s part of my story.

Read moreI know what you are thinking, 5 stars for Winn Dixie, really? Especially if you have visited the location on Poweline in Pompano. It's definitely not 5 star. This location however is completely different than any other Winn Dixie I have ever been in. It's decor has more in common with Whole Foods and Lucky's than it does other stores in this chain. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the gleaming wood floors. The store is huge and everything is clean, thus I am a fan. I am actually quite impressed by how the store has been kept up. It has been open for a few years now and it looks just as good as opening day.
The reason I like to come here is for the incredible wing bar. They have at least 8 kinds of wings and you can help yourself to what you like. On nights that I don't feel like cooking (TBH most nights), I pick up ribs ($12) and a bucket of wings along with some deli salads and I am the hero in my house.
In addition to their large deli they also have a great bakery and seafood counter. Of course Winn Dixie is known for it's meat and this store is no exception. They have low prices on their extensive meat selection. On the day I visited spiral hams for Easter were in abundance for $1.79 a pound. Honestly why can't all the Winn Dixie stores look like this? They carry anything you would normally find in a grocery store and even some items you wouldn't.
Best of all is their self check out. I love stores that offer this feature. I am at least ten minutes late in my day from the time I wake up until I go to bed. I don't have time to waste in a store's long lines. I have never had a wait in their self checkout line. On this trip I had a little trouble putting in my phone number for the rewards card. Rudy popped right up to lend a hand. Winn Dixie has recently changed it's fuel perks program and they have now switched from Shell to Exxon and Mobil. Rudy brought his tablet over and while I checked out he signed me up for the new program. I even found a cute magazine that Winn Dixie puts out for free filled with tasty spring recipes and money saving coupons. If you want the large amount of inventory and low prices that a chain grocery store like Walmart provides but the cleanliness of a niche market like Whole Foods than this may be a grocery store you want...
Read moreI do all of my shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings approximately 7:30-8 a.m. Sales run Wednesdays through Tuesdays each week. On Tuesdays about 7:45 a.m many of the sale signs on the products have already been removed so it makes it hard to shop for sale items that specify a certain amount of ounces on the sale product. I don't live and die by what's on sale but I do remember that certain items that I like are on sale that week. I should have learned by now to grab a flyer on the way in but I end up having to go back to the front entrance to get the flyer to figure out exactly what time/size is on sale. The other problem is that most sale items are gone by Tuesday 7:45 am even though the sale runs an additional 14 hours. There was one day last month that I went for 4 days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday to get a certain type of dole bagged salad but they were never stocked. I finally broke down and got a rain check. I love this Winn Dixie because it's right down the road, it has the most kind CSR's and because it is large, clean and organized. I haven't been to another Winn Dixie in the past 5 years so I'm not sure if what I detailed above is a Winn Dixie Chain issue or specific to this store. It's been years of this and it's gotten worse this past year or so. I have found myself shopping there less and less just because of the hassles. About a year ago I noticed that both produce and deli meat that I buy at BJ's lasts much longer and is higher quality than produce and deli meat that I buy at Winn Dixie. But BJ's is huge, I'd just rather shop at Winn Dixie if things were stocked and...
