Edible but sadly left a lot to be desired. Overpriced, but given the current inflation we're experiencing, that's to be expected. Meat was tender but lacked flavor. Ordered tacos and I was surprised at the questions: corn or flour? what would you like with them? Tacos are tacos and come only in corn Tortilla and the topics are the basic cilantro/onion and your choice or red/green salsa with a side of Limes. Limes which are no where in sight. I was speechless to see Lettuce being dumped on my lengua tacos... followed by only one teaspoon of green salsa on each. Unfortunately the tacos were bland and only salvageable thanks to the salt I added to it. I was starving so I ate it. I will say that the tongue/lengua was tender though, so that's a huge plus. I was just expecting, a 'Mexican' street taco being that this is a "Mexican Cocina" after all.
I understand the covid protocols that this business is still abiding by, so I can look past that.. However, when I cannot understand what the staff is asking or saying across the glass divider it makes for an unpleasant experience.. not to mention the extremely loud music playing that makes it impossible to hear my self think in the first place.
I orders a kid's meal (bean and cheese burrito) which somehow translated to a full regular size burrito. Again, there's the inability to understand because of the loud music. Nothing against the music itself, just the volume.. it needs to come down or have the staff remove their mask so I can make sense of what is being asked.
I appreciate the service rendered but I'm afraid I will not be...
Read moreExcellent place to get some good tacos, quesadillas and menudo, I can personally vouch for these two items. My wife likes their bowls. They have a "subway" style system, you choose the tortilla type or bowl, the meat, the toppings and the sauces. Their cilantro sauce is the best! There's also a salsa / sauce bar on the side, pan fried jalapenos and to-go containers. The menudo (it has hominy corn) is very good and I believe they have it daily, it's medium in the spicy scale, it is served very hot in a huge plate, even when ordered to-go it stays very hot. The tacos are very loaded and are huge in portions, these are not your typical tiny street tacos. In my opinion the carne asada is the best meat they offer, the pork carnitas is very dry, the chicken can be bland, the ground beef is greasy, and their barbacoa lack in flavor. The quesadillas are made with a huge flour tortilla and they use buttered cheese which is delicious, if I'm in the mood I usually have a plain quesadilla with my menudo, but you can order it with any type of meat. They have a soda fountain and an assortment of glass bottle soda drinks. They only have 1 or 2 options of desserts which are either flan or tres leches cake. The food is very good when you need to get your "mexican" food fix. When it comes to tacos this place is the better place in town for menudo and tacos...at least a place that is not in a truck and has steady hours of operation. I personally...
Read moreAug-22-24 I ordered a carne asada burrito today around 3pm after work and the steak was old and dry, I took a few chunks out with my fingers to bite it in half and it was as if it was yesterday's meat and reheated or its been in the warmer pot all day long this is shameful Cilantro's use to be the goto place 3 years ago for decent quality fresh authentic Mexican food and it has taken a dive recently, message to the owner " if your food has exceeded it's freshness after it's cooked throw it out or loose business " I once was a regular customer of yours and it shows that the business is struggling for profits or it's being mis managed.
