Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Maricopa

I forgot to write my review based off by experience on the second day of opening first and foremost the location is nice. However, there was a lot of bumps on the road first to the girl taking my order in the drive-through, had a little bit of an attitude, and when I had told her that I received a free cayenne Ranch chicken sandwich she said that if I gave her the code in the beginning it would mess up my order so when I ended up giving her the code towards the end, she didn’t even apply my free sandwich so I was charged extra when I shouldn’t have been on top of that when I actually received my drinks, I got a peach tea to be very honest that was the most disgusting drink I’ve ever had it was hot. It had barely any ice so I asked to have it replaced two regular fountain drinks, which were also worse there were not as carbonated, so I will not be getting my drinks there. Now let’s get to the food once I got my situation taken care of with the managers who were actually very nice and willing to assist give me my refund for the sandwich I was overcharged for which I should have gotten free and I was on my way. I ordered the slim chicken meal and I got a side order of the fried pickles the fried pickles, I will not be getting any longer. It was extremely salty. It overpowered the rest of my food and lost my appetite. I also did order some sauces which by the way it’s kind of ridiculous to charge $.40 for not even McDonald’s next-door charges for sauces, but besides the point The slim not the best there was no flavor. The ranch was actually pretty good. I did also get my free chicken sandwich and the sandwich was good it was juicy. It just needs more flavor and it needs to be bigger because for them to charge eight dollars original price for a small chicken sandwich. I might as well go to Chick-fil-A . Also The slim meal was all right but to be honest, I’d rather make the drive to Casa grande too and go to canes. They should have just opened a Chick-fil-A or canes instead of a slim chicken. Husband and I ordered 6 piece wing meal, Tender Mac Bowl, Fried Mushrooms, and a Jar Dessert.

Husband said that he does wish the Buffalo sauce they tossed his wings in had a little more of a kick to them, but he would order them again to try one of their other sauces instead. He liked the fries as well, and just thought it was a nice lunch today.

While I myself feel I should have asked for no Texas Toast, that's just more to my own taste, it was good, but I shouldn't have a lot of bread. Usually I am quite picky about Mac and Cheese at restaurants, so I was a little tentative going in, but this was among the best I've had so far. I would absolutely go for it again.

The fried mushrooms were amazing. I ate them without the dressing that did come with them, and I would absolutely order them again. The breading didn't dry them out too much, they were good, and I could eat mushrooms every day.

Finally the Jar dessert. I got the oreos and cheesecake one, and while I only took a couple spoonfuls of it because I was otherwise full, I put the rest in my fridge for later because there will absolutely be a later. Hands down, this has become one of my favorite desserts. I'll have to try some of the others they have later on.

The service was fast, there was no line when we went in, and sat down. The food came out hot and we were surprised how quickly it was done. The folks working there were really kind, came and asked to take our trash instead of us getting up to do it, (not that we would have minded cleaning up after ourselves, of course).

10/10 would go again to dine at Slim Chickens here...

We visited Slim Chicken for lunch today. It was our first time and the restaurant has only been open for about a week. There was a short line of people waiting to order, which the staff took care of pretty quickly. We ordered our food and were given a table tent with a number on it, so they could bring the food to our table. We decided to sit outside on the patio since it is really nice weather right now. We ordered a 6 wing meal and a Slim’s Meal which comes with 5 chicken tenders. Both meals came with a medium drink, Texas Toast, French fries and dipping sauces. The total cost for two people to dine was $27.48, which is a bit pricey for fast food. We sat at our table, displaying the table tent number toward the door that leads to the patio. Before our food was served, an employee approached our table asking if there was anything else we needed. We kindly advised her that we were still waiting for our meal. Our food arrived after a few minutes and was hot, fresh and tasty. The serving size was generous, however, the French fries were way too salty. As we enjoyed our meal on the patio in the beautiful weather, we were constantly reminded of how close we were to the Maricopa-Casa Grande highway due to the road noise. The train tracks just south of the highway were also busy, providing us with more noise pollution. Throughout the time we were eating, two other employees stopped by our table to see if there was anything else we needed. Altogether, it was decent fast food except for the extra-salty fries, and pretty expensive for fast food. It’s worth trying...
