Glad I stopped in. I was curious of what they sold. Very surprised at the food and desserts. Also had a few grocery items. Clean and on theme establishment. Good service. Fast food. Plenty seating.
Tried the original Aussie meat pie. It was fair in size and the perfect pasty shell but the meat gravy wasn’t the best I’ve had. 7/10
Chips-10/10 Amazing chips. Devoured them, crispy kettle style with a great seasoning choice. Unique! when you order a meat pie for dine-in, it comes with a small amount of chips but when you order it to-go, it doesn’t come with the little chips. I ordered one meat pie dine-in and two to-go. I asked for a few extra chips on my dine-in order since they don’t give them on my order to-go. She charged me $1.50 side order of chips and wasn’t going to mention it until I asked her about it which I didn’t like. Tell me ahead that to add extra you’d have to charge/let me decide. All good
The Burgundy Meat Pie & Steak & Onion Meat Pie 10/10 The flavors were what I was looking for in the original meat pie. The burgundy has thicker chunks of steak in wine that makes for a wonderful flavor & chew. I see why people order four.
Banana Muffin-10/10 Great moisture, size, flavor, and price. Makes me want to try the lemon curd, blueberry and other options.
Caramel Slice-delicious10/10 Great size, price and taste. It’s a bit too sweet. Can’t eat it all. Maybe something like nuts, more breading or a sugar reduction can help balance this.
Apple Slice-10/10 my favorite of the three. taste like apple pie but with shortbread. love the bread and the filling was thick/real apples. The bread gets a bit soggy and can taste undone, but I devoured it first. Maybe the breading could be a bit firmer like pound cake, a little cinnamon or nutmeg can be added. Great price/value.
Really want to try the fish, all the other meat pies, literally their entire menu next time. Pleasantly surprised. All bakeries are different and I like the style of this one. Off my first experience, I don’t see why they wouldn’t...
Read moreI'm giving more than one star because I had a good experience the first time I came here. The steak and onion pie was very good. The second time I came here was not a good experience. It was a Saturday and I guess they close early on Saturdays. My family and I didn't realize this, the restaurant didn't appear to be closed and was full of people. I went to push the door open and,who I assume is the owner because of his Australian accent, literally hit me in the face with the door and yelled "WE'RE CLOSED!" As he hit me with the door! I guess it made a loud noise because everyone in the restaurant turned to look. I was stunned. My sister and I looked at each other and just awkwardly walked away with the rest of our family. We were so excited to eat there and it really took the wind out of our sails. I've never been treated like that before. I then saw him do the same thing to another young man who didn't realize the restaurant was closed either. He never locked the door. Just stood by it opening it, yelling at people, then slamming the door in their face like he did me. He actually hit me with the door though. I work in the service industry directly with the public just like he does and I would never treat a customer the way he treated us. There's no excuse when the potential customer is just unaware that you close at an odd time on the weekend. If you're closed, lock the door, or maybe just politely explain to the customer that you're no longer taking customers that day. We only wanted to give you business after all! It sucks, because I really liked this place and we were excited to eat here. We also like supporting local businesses. I don't think I'll be back. I've never been hit with a door and...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped by to grab some lunch, as we had been wanting to visit this place for a year now. We were intrigued by the Google reviews claiming that the fish and chips here were the best in Marietta. However, our experience didn't live up to our expectations when it came to the taste and flavor of the fish and the fries. The lady at the desk was very nice when we placed our order, and we even received dessert before our meal. Unfortunately, the dessert was subpar. Nonetheless, we decided to go ahead with the fish deal, and to our surprise, it arrived very quickly, in about a minute. This made us wonder if the fish had already been pre-cooked. When we started eating the fish, we found it to be mushy, with a fishy taste and little flavor. The restaurant claims to have the best fish in Atlanta, but that was definitely not the case. We would have preferred eating at Captain D's. The fish was simply not good. We wouldn't even go back for more fish, even if it were free. Regrettably, we won't be recommending this place, and we won't return. However, we did enjoy the Australian shop nearby, where we found Australian crackers and Vegemite. Apart from that, we wouldn't spend any more money at this place, whether on food, drinks, or dessert. Be aware that customer reviews may not always be reliable, as was the case with this place. We have had many food-seeking adventures in Cobb County, but this one is definitely one of the worst experiences we've had...
