I think most folks can appreciate that with money not going as far as it did 5 years ago, when we pay a good price, expecting good food should be manageable. This place was like getting mugged. Insanely expensive, for how inedible the food was. Truly bad. They are skating by on overcharging for exotic condiments that are 100% necessary because the food cannot stand on its own merits. Some of the food may be photogenic, but the charm ends as soon as you attempt to eat. I say “attempt to eat” because it’s more endless chewing, using sauce to lubricate getting it down, and eventually giving up because you’ve owned belts, purses, and shoes that would have been easier to digest. The ribs were so dry, and leathery, the word chewy would be generous. I have - no exaggeration - had jerky that was more tender and moist. Just so, so, so bad. The kale slaw was almost as bad. Bad product, tasted like bug spray, lots of rib and what appeared and tasted to be the stalks of broccoli chopped up. I really hope the owners and chef get exactly the level of satisfaction from their business that they are providing to their customers. The fries tasted like their oil was weeks over due for changing. As far as atmosphere, it was hot, moist, so loud you have to yell to talk across the table - honestly the only thing the menu is really good for is a fan. Terrible management of acoustics, ventilation. They have a pretty good selection of beers and wine. Servers stay on top of it, thank God, because between the overpriced awful food and being in a deafeningly loud sauna, you’re going to need those constant water refills. That second star is for the good service. The only thing this place has going for it. Without that, I’d be writing google to find out why we can’t give zero stars. Blech. My mouth is getting dry just thinking about this place. Yuck. Terrible. Would not recommend to my...

TAKING STOCK: What's more important to you? Good food or good service? I believe most would say, both. And I agree, but can really good service overcome a mediocre meal?

That's the challenge with this review.

We dined outside, under a partly sunny sky, and were greeted well. The vibe was relaxed, as we sat during the waining minutes of lunchtime to celebrate our anniversary.

The restaurant was sparsely populated and not very busy at all. We ordered the tots for an appetizer, I ordered the steak and fries, and my date ordered the fish sandwich and mac and cheese. Our server was pleasant and very personable and fun to interact with.

The tots took a while to arrive, about 15 minutes, and weren't very good. The sweet potato tots were served in a small cast iron pan, a nice touch, but were more soft than crisp, the topping (shredded pork and cheese) was dry and clumped. Almost as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp on the line after being prepared and waited a bit too long to be run to the table.

The main course arrived much quicker, my steak (ordered medium rare) had almost no pink within it, and seemed "medium-well", and the flavor wasn't much to speak of. On the other hand, my date's fish sandwich was very good. Tasted fresh and cooked just right. However, her mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy and was also pretty dry. But the best was yet to come.

As we waited for the check to arrive we were pleasantly surprised when our server delivered a complimentary bourbon/bread pudding topped with ice cream, to honor our celebration. It was tasty and a very nice end to a slightly disappointing meal.

So over all the food was okay, a bit mediocre, and the service was excellent. I think we'll try to give these folks another shot to see if the food can improve and match the rest of this seemingly...

Went here for my 1hr lunch break on a Wednesday. My partner had called to see if it was possible to order ahead of time since I didn't have much time to actually sit in the dinning area and hope my meal would come out before I needed to head back to the office. The nice lady said it was possible to get a to-go order and just eat in the outside seating area infront of the restaurant. No problem. We arrive on time and our food was ready for us. Inside there were a few people eating but it was by no means busy at all, we had specifically gotten there pass the noon rush and eaten there almost at 2pm. We had seen people linger in the outside tables already, but after 10ish mins of eating, we were the only ones outside. 30 mins after we sat down, out comes an older gentleman that did not identify himself and just said "since you're already eating I won't rush you out, but next time remember 'to-go' meals means 'to-go' you cannot sit outside and eat". This took us completely by surprised since we had specifically called to confirm that it was ok to do so. We calmly told the man what we had been told on the phone not even an hour ago, in which he rolled his eyes and said "well that's wrong, you cannot eat outside". My partner and I just kind of looked at each other confused and said a simple "ok?" and then the man marched inside not saying anything else. Mind you, we did not have any other food with us. Everything we got was from this restaurant, and we even tipped online. I don't see what the point of making such a fuss about eating outside was worth. We weren't dirty, and weren't loud, we we're simply just eating. I found the food was pretty OK but with the horrible way we were treated I'm never coming back. I'll rather give my money to a restaurant that actually wants its customers...

To start off, Stockyard is a restaurant that specializes in burgers, “bones,” and bourbon - so I would recommend to get one of those options if you’re coming here. It is in Marietta Square so parking may be a difficult to find if you’re going during a busy hours. The restaurant itself looks small from the outside, but the inside is spacious. Heather, who was our waitress, was very friendly and welcomed us. Kevin, who is the manager, also welcomed us and was very friendly and he made sure to check in with us throughout our time there. I had gotten the Mother Clucker (Angry) with Frites. It had tasted amazing for its’ balance of sweet and savory flavors without it not being too spicy. My girlfriend had ordered the Dirty South, which includes creamy gouda mac & cheese, bacon, and their homemade barbecue sauce. It was also delicious. I found that the barbecue sauce was a little too sweet. I would’ve preferred less barbecue sauce, but if you like barbecue sauce then you’ll love it. Lastly, we had their bread pudding, which was a perfect way to end dinner. The ice cream was a good compliment to the warm and fluffy bread pudding. The cinnamon and sugar that was sprinkled on top also gave it a good pop of sweetness. Overall, there is not one complaint that I have about this restaurant. The food was amazing, the staff were attentive and friendly and the prices overall aren’t that bad.

Probably one of the only 5 stars I will ever give. This place was amazing. To start off with the BBQ wings, I think they're Korean or something similar were very good. The flavor was awesome and they were very good sized wings. Being from Buffalo I just wings harshly but these did not let us down. Moving to the calamari, it was good, hand breaded and all rings. The garlic aeoli sauce was delicious. However, as good as these were, Carrabbas is still #1 for calamari. Their burgers are huge and their flavors and uniqueness of their topings/creations are top notch. Their fries are hand cut very similar to 5 guys, though they could have been cooked just a bit longer. However, a disclaimer is that I prefer a crispy fry to a soggy or even soft one. Their chicken tenders were hand breaded and made my wife, who is a burger fanatic put down her burger and eat them. Their angry clucker spicy chicken sandwich... words cannot explain its greatness. First off, its more than 2x the size of the bun, its hand breaded, it was super moist, prefect flavor, and perfectly cooked. Their brownie with vanilla ice cream is comparable to most places, but was very delicious nonetheless. Their bourbon bread pudding cake (can't remember if that was the exact item) was out of this world, the flavor was just out of the park. Not sure if this place has been featured on DDD but if it hasn't it needs to be!
