My journey to flavor-vana begins inside the brightly lit and energetic atmosphere of the restaurant, where I was immediately greeted by a charismatically jovial hostess, who offered us immediate seating in the sunny patio area. The first thing I noticed upon sitting down the was light and invigorating breeze. I'm not sure if the Lord God our Savior always smiles upon Taqueria Tsunami with a luscious breeze, but he certainly did this day.
I was immediately greeted by a charming and wholesome saint of a server, who's smile brightened my table as much as the sunlight. She immediately brought my requested beverage of choice for Latin fare, a tantalizingly crisp ice cold Coca Cola, which I can only assume is shipped in daily from the semi-local Coca Cola factory.
Partially of my own accord and partly at my servers suggestion, I settled on ordering three tacos with a side of Jalapeño Queso Tots. I will describe each delicacy at length posthaste.
The first tangy taco to twiddle my taste buds was a Vietnamese Beef Bulgogi mix topped with a crisp cucumber salad (pictured bottom right). It was succinctly sweet and suggestively spicy, while maintaining a neutral balance due to the fresh cucumber salad that anointed the ridge of sweet meat mountains below. This made for a wholly unencumbered start to the meal of many lifetimes.
I then moved on the the whole rib and mushroom taco (pictured bottom left). This hearty and heavenly combination was a savory contrast to the sweetness of my previously consumed taco. Perfectly sautéed mushrooms blended fantastically with the rich flavors of prime rib, with a hint of a southern spicy BBQ, only to be capped with a invigorating green bed of slaw that I can only describe as an ethereal experience.
Being two thirds of the way through my meal, I found myself mourning the unfortunate truth that was my last remaining taco. However, I experienced baptism through Baja with my final taco - Baja Chicken. With a delicate mix of pineapple de gallo, teriyaki chicken, and a drizzle of Sriracha mayonnaise, this elegant yet sexy toss of fruit and veggies combined with salty and spicy meat and sauce resulted in a one way ticket to flavortown.
Finally, allow me to describe my side - Jalapeño Queso Tots. The only way to describe this dish is that it is the crunchy and creamy love child of a gay Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro power couple. It's so delicious that even a lactose intolerant Trump supporter that is watching his starch intake would be forced to eat it.
Overall, the total summation upon finishing my meal is that there are no chefs at this restaurant, and there is no kitchen; there is only the human embodiment of whatever god exists that is immaculately conceiving these awe-inspiring and paradigm shifting convocations of flavor.
But the fortune cookie wasn't home made in store.

Read moreThe food is amazing and one of my favorite places to unwind and grab tacos!! However, the star is for the horrible service I received from the manager Jennifer! I contacted the restaurant regarding an unauthorized charge on my card for the tip, it was $6 more than what I authorized! I spoke with Jennifer, she took my information down and assured me that she would take care of it and give me a call back that evening! I NEVER received a call back from her, called back 2 more times still no update or call back! Now, I’m starting to think Jennifer has brushed my issues under the rug! I called again and spoke with Jennifer, she’s states well we have a new credit card machine and it has been charging a lot of customers the wrong amount! Wow, that was really assuring Jennifer! Few days past again STILL NO UPDATE FROM JENNIFER as promised! I call again and was able to speak with David, he was awesome and within seconds provided a reasonable resolution! He advised that I come in and someone can run my card to do a refund and then he’ll give a complementary meal card! He assured me that if he’s not in all the mangers will be made aware of the situation and know what to do! Fast forward to TODAY I stop by cause we’re in the area and guess who’s there JENNIFER! First she comes out never once introduced herself or offered any kind of apology for the inconvenience and then tells me that someone already came in with my name and they gave them the 3 complimentary meal cards! Absolutely impossible ma’am!! Another LIE told by Jennifer, I can’t believe she’s a manager her customer service skills are horrible!! I decided to leave and not stay because of her, so I go inside and ask for my refund from the previous order, as I’m waiting for her I ask the cashier what her name was (she said oh that’s Jennifer) so when Jennifer returns I asked her if her name was Jennifer and she said NO! Another LIE! I could not believe that she stood there and lied to my face! Then she said “just give me your card” I told her that I did not want her assistance! How is she in leadership with an attitude like this? Is this how you treat all of your customers?! I will NOT return to...
Read moreThis Marietta Square corner spot delivers a resounding "yes" to the often-elusive promise of exceptional fusion cuisine. For too long, I'd heard whispers of its brilliance, and finally, I can confirm: the hype is unequivocally justified.
The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance. It's not trying too hard, yet it possesses a distinct charm. The high-top tables facing the park provide a vibrant, street-level perspective, while the interior's booth and table arrangement offers comfortable, unpretentious dining. The well-stocked bar and craft cocktail menu signal a commitment to quality, a detail that extends to the food itself.
This isn't your average fusion joint. They boldly declare a marriage of Far East and South of the Border flavors, and they execute it with precision and flair. The appetizers serve as an immediate indicator of the kitchen's prowess. My choice, the Asian Nachos, was a masterstroke. Forget the predictable; this dish is a symphony of textures and tastes, a reimagining of a classic that elevates it to new heights. The crunch, the nuanced sauces, the unexpected flavor combinations – it all worked in perfect harmony.
The taco selection is a testament to culinary creativity. I opted for a diverse sampling: The Rich Man's Taco, the Aloha Taco, and the Pacific Rim Taco. Each one was a meticulously crafted experience, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavor profiles. It's rare to find a restaurant where every dish feels thoughtfully conceived, but this is precisely what they've achieved. Even the humble side of tots with queso was elevated, a testament to their attention to detail. My companions' Short Rib quesadilla and rice and beans were equally well-received, confirming the kitchen's consistency.
This restaurant isn't just good; it's a standout. It's a place where culinary innovation meets genuine hospitality, resulting in a dining experience that is both memorable and satisfying. My only regret is not discovering it sooner. If you're seeking a restaurant that transcends the ordinary, look no further. This is...
