After an hour and 30 minute drive, we finally made it to Diyar Al Yemen, the first-ever Yemeni restaurant in Marietta, Georgia, and it’s 100% halal + honestly, it was so worth it. I’d 10/10 make the trip again 🥹✨
The moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a vibe that felt warm, authentic, and full of culture. From the traditional floor seating booths to the chairs, cultural music, and historic photos on the walls, it really brought a little piece of Yemen right here to Georgia 🇾🇪
They flew in their chef straight from Yemen, who has over 18 years of experience specializing in Yemeni cuisine, and it showed in every single dish. We’re big on trying different cuisines and cultures, and this place lived up to everything we were hoping for 🤌🏽
Mohammad took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The hospitality was top-tier, and every dish came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. The chicken mandi and lamb kabsa were cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy, and falling off the bone. The fahsa, served bubbling in a hot clay bowl, had a hearty stew consistency with shredded lamb and mashed potatoes. So comforting and flavorful 🫧
The sides tied it all together, the hummus was smooth and rich, and the salad had just the right amount of dressing and not overpowering at all. And the tomato chutney with the spicy green sauce was the perfect complement to the rice 🌶️
The restaurant itself was super clean, parking was easy, and the overall layout was both cozy and culturally rooted. The best part? At the end of the meal, they brought out hot towels, a small but thoughtful gesture that really showcased the hospitality and warmth of Yemeni culture.
All in all, it was a beautiful experience. Great food, welcoming people, and a vibe that made it feel like home. Definitely a spot worth visiting, trust me! 🤌🏽✨🇾🇪

Read moreWe tried this newly opened Yemeni restaurant with a big group—party of 30 or more—and it was absolutely fantastic! Every single one of us loved it. The food, the atmosphere, and most of all, the heart behind this place make it a must-visit.
Yes, they’re still getting into their groove, but honestly, for a new restaurant, they’re doing an incredible job. If you’re looking for a polished, fine-dining experience, this may not be your spot—yet. But if you want authentic, soulful Yemeni food and genuinely warm hospitality, you’ve found the right place.
The dishes were full of flavor and came out fresh. Some items took a bit longer, but it was well worth the wait and the experience was so memorable that I’d go back again and again.
A huge shoutout to Mo, the owner and chef. His story is inspiring—starting work at 13, learning the ropes, and now running his own place with a passion you can taste in every bite. He’s kind, hardworking, and committed to great customer service. He even made sure our massive group was taken care of personally.
Yes, there were a few small bumps—some minor confusion—but honestly, that didn’t matter at all. The staff is doing their best, and the level of care we received far outweighed any hiccups.
This place is more than a restaurant—it’s a labor of love. Support them, enjoy the incredible food, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself becoming a regular. I know I will.
We tried pretty much everything and loved it all. Lamb Haneeth Lamb kabsa All the shawarmas Fahsah (make sure you eat this with bread) Falafel Hummus (best hummus I’ve eaten in a restaurant) Lamb soup Mandi
You name it we tried it! And it was all fantastic! Thank you mo for giving us an opportunity to try amazing authentic Yemeni food! The first of its kind in Atlanta and absolutely amazing! Let me also reiterate that in this large group of people the age ranged from a toddler to elderly up to 80s year old. There was someone present from each decade of age group and not one person had a complaint nor frustration. We all left content, satisfied,...
Read moreMe and my family drove almost 2hrs to meet up and eat at this restaurant, we were all excited to eat at a zabiha Yemeni restaurant. We were a party of 11 we ordered hot tea for everyone, four lemonades, the diyar family platter for 8-10 people, lentil soup, 3 plates of hummus and salad, and fahsah. The hummus was brought out with a single piece of bread for all 11 of us to share, then our food came out quickly- 2 platters with a lot of rice a very small piece of lamb and one chicken thigh and wing on both platters, making up a total of four pieces of meat combined for the entire table. Our drinks were never served to us we asked for more bread and we got one, singular piece after asking three times, our lentil soup never came, and we all sat at the table watching as people ordered the same exact thing as us and received all of their drinks, copious amount of meat on their platters, extreme attentiveness compared to our table. I’m not sure if we were subject to some kind of bias, or if the restaurant was just having a bad day and were too busy to serve us properly or even provide us what we ordered. whatever it may be the service was horrendous. As for the food we did receive it was genuinely delicious it would’ve been great if we had a chance to taste everything else we ordered. Me and my family are African American Muslims and after watching different tables being sat right next to us who were Arab people and being served properly, definitely makes me question if our race has anything to do with our extremely...
